Grey's Anatomy

God, I haven't seen last weeks episode yet and Ive read so many new posts! But I'm pretty sure Meredith won't die. She's Meredith--she's the protagonist of the show for crying out loud!

It won't be Grey's Anatomy without Meredith Grey.

it is quite a preview, isn't it?

Is Addision leaving Grey's Anatomy to have Addison's Anatomy?
(from WSJ)
ABC is surgically removing part of "Grey's Anatomy" to see if it can survive on its own. In a bold move that could bring in millions of dollars in new advertising income if it's successful, ABC has decided to pursue a spinoff of the hugely successful medical drama. Departing "Grey's Anatomy" to anchor the new show would be one of its most popular characters: Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, a sexy neonatal-surgeon played by Kate Walsh.

The general plot is still a work in progress and "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes hasn't settled on a title, says a spokeswoman for ABC. A two-hour pilot of the show is likely to air in May.

^^ Agreed. As much as I love Addison I hope this is just a rumour. I mean why ruin the good thing that's going on right now, Grey's better than ever. I didn't like the beginning of this season, but now it's really really great again :)

wow that would be horrible. addison is a great character but to have a show based on her would be disastrous. what make's grey's anatomy soo good is the diversity of the characters and how many main characters there are

Addison isn't my favourite character and I think her leaving wouldn't have that much of a negative effect on the storylines of Grey's. I watch the show for the interns and McDreamy so I honestly wouldn't miss her much if she left.

The writers might have difficulties fitting all 12 regular characters into storylines. Everyone needs screentime. That's why they are having a spinoff.

ABC will have a 2-hour pilot before Sep/Oct. If it works, it will continues. if not, then...end of story.

I had a dream about Addision last night, in which she went to see Dr. Frazier for her Mark addiction.;)

I seriously hope that they do NOT make a spin off because I doubt it would work. I agree that its hard to write front burner storylines for 12 major characters but thats why sometimes we have to go on the backburner. So far they have done an amazing job at writing everyone's storylines so no one is really sitting on the sidelines.

Great preview. Kudos!

I personally think that's a horrible idea. I remember when she first arrived on the show I hated her simply for the fact that she came between Meredith and Derek  but I know that she's grown on a lot of fans, and that's saying a lot considering she was once considered the "villain". I've come to love her, especially after last week's episode when she saw Meredith and looked genuinely worried.

Man at this rate I dont need to see the episode. All these clips are so amazing. Thank you all for them. I wish I could give more karma but it won't allow me to. I have to spread the love I guess.

December-- I agree with you wholeheartedly. When Addision first showed up in the season 1 finale (which wasn't meant to be the finale...but thats another story in itself) I hated her. How dare anyone break up my favorite couple?

Then she started to grow on me. I started to like her as a character. I didn't want her with Derek but I did like her on the show. She added a new element and I sort of want her to stay. She has realized her marriage with Derek is over, she gets it. She moved on from Mark and it looks like something is brewing between her and Alex. I'd like to see that explored a bit. And from what I can see Mark is sticking around as well.

I think that the rumor about Addision getting a spin off stems from the fact that Kate's contract is about to expire. People always jump toconclusion. I am sure that she is going to renew her contract and all will be fine on Greys.

^i read somehwere that there will probably be a 2 hour premire of the new show in May

Taye Diggs joins "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff

Taye Diggs will star opposite Kate Walsh in ABC's potential spinoff from hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy."

The show will test the waters as a back-door pilot, an expanded two-hour episode of "Grey's" slated to air in May. It will center on neonatal surgeon Addison Shepherd (Walsh), a character who has enjoyed a strong following from fans since she was introduced at the end of the hot surgical drama's first season.

It is understood that the back-door pilot episode will feature Shepherd on the verge of leaving Seattle Grace, a scenario that will be triggered if ABC goes with the spinoff for next season. There were no details on the character Diggs will play.

"Grey's" creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes is writing the episode and is expected to shepherd the potential series. Meanwhile, Rhimes' other ABC pilot, about female journalists, has been pushed to a summer production start.

Diggs' casting in the "Gray" spinoff stems from a new talent holding deal he recently signed with ABC TV Studio, where "Grey's Anatomy" is based. He starred in two drama series for the studio, "Kevin Hill" for UPN and "Day Break" for ABC.

^That's it then. If Taye Diggs is in it, it will fail. That man just has terrible luck with TV shows.
