Well I don't understand how everyone can say they HATED the episode and I don't get how they can say they loved it either. I'm just very in the middle about it. Although parts of it were kind of lame and very predictable others were amazing moments.
Like I said in an earlier post a lot of tv shows this season have done the "dead but in limbo" storyline and GA handled it in a very different manner than the rest of the shows have. Meredith practically had to be convinced that she wanted to go back, that people needed her and then she had to run like the wind before her time ran out. It was a good episode in the sense that it gave us a lot of little things to like.
Likes:
Meredith telling the guys, "No offense but the first person I'd wanna see is...DOC!" That was cute. I was thinking maybe she had a dead aunt or uncle or something she'd like to see. Nope her dog.
Meredith trying to save Bonnie repeatedly. I mean I guess there was a message here. Meredith would do anything to save someone else's life but she just gave up on her own and let the cold water take her to her death. Why is she so willing to fight for other people but not herself?
Derek completely flipping out on Ellis telling her that if Meredith dies she is at fault for breaking her. Ellis's harsh words broke Meredith and made her give up on everything. Then in turn Derek having to save her life.
Addision freaking on Derek telling him he wasn't allowed to break down. He had to be strong for Meredith.
Dr.Webber refusing to let Meredith go. "This is Ellis Grey's daughter". It shows you that he does have compassion for his staff and that he really did love Ellis. If he can't save Ellis maybe he can help with her daughter.
Cristina just leaving in the middle of her shift to go to the 99 cent store and then head over to Joe's. GA writes her as such a tough b*tch that when she loses it, she really loses it. Remember when she had a miscarriage? And as much as I hate both Burke and Cristina, when he went to the bar and told her that Meredith is her person..she should be there for her... it was tender and touching.
Alex talking to his patient about how he knows more about her then he knows about his closest friends. You are starting to see a softer side of him as well.
Izzie freaking out on Callie. I'm not much of a Callie fan and I'm not a Callie hater either but it was a good scene. Izzie is VERY protective of her friends. In turn George refusing her apology was gold!
Obviously, the Denny/Izzie tender touch passing in the hall way. That one moment was worth it for me

And I'm glad that Meredith could accept thats all she'd get with her McDreamy.
Meredith telling Derek that he knew that her mom had died. That closure scene between Ellis and Meredith was good. She needed to hear that she was anythiing but ordinary.
What I didn't like:
Bonnie continually bleeding and going into shock and all that junk. It wore off its welcome after the first two times. I get it, she wasn't ready to die.
Denny. Yeah he was starting to bother me. Sorry, I never liked his character and I didn't like him taking Izzie from Alex. I thought his death was very predictable. I liked the moment he shared with Izzie but thats it about him.
Addison telling Mark that she wished Derek had cared for her the way he cares for Meredith and then making a 60 day deal with Mark. If he can keep his penis in his pants for 60 days she'd consider trying a real relationship with him. (How would she know if he had sex or not?!)
Ellis dying before Meredith had a "real" chance to say goodbye to her mom.
Izzie losing it on Callie. She didn't deserve it and its time that Izzie accepted the fact that GEORGE GOT MARRIED no matter what Izzie's opinion is!
Overall I think the goods outweighed the bads and it was a good episode, just not the best.
