Grey's Anatomy

Am I the only one who thought the episode sucked?

No, you're not. I've had enough of shows doing the cliched near death experience/purgatory crap.

I wish Izzy was the one they killed off. She's getting on my last nerve with her horrible treatment of Callie. Thankfully, George is finally standing up for her.

^what happened again?

When Izzie was walking in the hall and then stopped, and Denny was right beside her. Earlier on he had talked about how he was only able to enjoy moments with her, how much he missed her, how he could almost her her voice.. I loved it mostly because of Denny haha...

I'm trying to figure out why Izzie hates Callie so much!! I suppose it's a jealousy thing? For some reason I never understood.

It was a good episode but I was really looking forward to something more special. I mean they hyped this up so much. What really got to me besides seeing Derek lose it on Ellis was when Cristina started to cry when talking to Meredith.

The show was good but probably not one of my top 5, not even top 10 but it did end well. The Denny/Izzie ending was cute. Addison/Mark was too expected.

^Exactly. I really hated the whole "afterlife" thing- it's been done and it's been done better. It seems like the writers just couldn't come up with anything better.

WTF, this was the worst episode ever. Totally predictable, cliched, and lame. I can't wait till that spin-off starts, cause I think I'm done with this show.

i disliked addison in this episode, just because how she treated some of the people during the first half of the episode. for example, when she went to tell izzy, christina, and george to brace themselves she was so mean to them. christina had questions and addison just yelled "dr. yang its not going well" or something like that. have a little compassion, her best friend is dying and you are yelling at her. i know she was stressed and worried as well, but she did not have to treat christina like that.

all in all the episode was a little strange but i still liked it. I think Izzy is a little too mean to Callie but that was totally uncalled for when Callie was about to say that everyone Izzy gets close to dies. That was just horrible.

I liked the scene between Meredith and her mother when her mom gave her a huge hug and said you are anything but ordinary. but my favorite scene was the last one with denny and izzy. i really would have like to see him live and them getting married

I know the ep is kinda cliche, but I still love it.

I love:
When Denny and Izzie past each other on the hallway..."the moment"...alll you get is "the moment"
When Addison said who she would possibly have sex with, the screen immediately switched to Alex.
When Derek lashed out on Ellis Grey for looking down on Meredith
When we finally realized how Cristina's dad's death affected her
When Meredith admitted that she did kinda give up
When Denny and Dylan argued at the beginning of Meredith's afterlife
When Denny told Meredith how Derek still believes in soulmate...

I was surprised how Addision told the interns about Meredith's condition when Bailey specifically told her to be careful to choose words. (Am i too sensitive?)

The one part that I really did like from this episode was the scene where Christina goes shopping. And she buys a little chair!

hahaha and i loved at how amazed she was that the chair was only 99 cents

Something from the podcast...in the next new ep, aired 2 weeks from now:
Some people will show up at the hospital that you never expect
The last 30-sec will leave you jaw-dropping, (compared it to the arrival of McSteamy from the shower a few eps back)

I liked the scene between Meredith and her mother, it was a way for them to reconcile and have closure. And the last scene with Denny and Izzy was sweet and unexpected. But I didn't like the part with the dead girl Bonnie, I liked the episode with the train wreck when she died, the way she handle everything, it make her caracter likeable and it was really sad when she died, but in last night episode she was whining and being completely annoying, they ruinned a short but likeable character. Izzy was annoying too, she's getting on my nerves with her behavior towards Callie.
I also liked seeing "Doc", so cute.

Well I don't understand how everyone can say they HATED the episode and I don't get how they can say they loved it either. I'm just very in the middle about it. Although parts of it were kind of lame and very predictable others were amazing moments.

Like I said in an earlier post a lot of tv shows this season have done the "dead but in limbo" storyline and GA handled it in a very different manner than the rest of the shows have. Meredith practically had to be convinced that she wanted to go back, that people needed her and then she had to run like the wind before her time ran out. It was a good episode in the sense that it gave us a lot of little things to like.

Likes:

Meredith telling the guys, "No offense but the first person I'd wanna see is...DOC!" That was cute. I was thinking maybe she had a dead aunt or uncle or something she'd like to see. Nope her dog.

Meredith trying to save Bonnie repeatedly. I mean I guess there was a message here. Meredith would do anything to save someone else's life but she just gave up on her own and let the cold water take her to her death. Why is she so willing to fight for other people but not herself?

Derek completely flipping out on Ellis telling her that if Meredith dies she is at fault for breaking her. Ellis's harsh words broke Meredith and made her give up on everything. Then in turn Derek having to save her life.

Addision freaking on Derek telling him he wasn't allowed to break down. He had to be strong for Meredith.

Dr.Webber refusing to let Meredith go. "This is Ellis Grey's daughter". It shows you that he does have compassion for his staff and that he really did love Ellis. If he can't save Ellis maybe he can help with her daughter.

Cristina just leaving in the middle of her shift to go to the 99 cent store and then head over to Joe's. GA writes her as such a tough b*tch that when she loses it, she really loses it. Remember when she had a miscarriage? And as much as I hate both Burke and Cristina, when he went to the bar and told her that Meredith is her person..she should be there for her... it was tender and touching.

Alex talking to his patient about how he knows more about her then he knows about his closest friends. You are starting to see a softer side of him as well.

Izzie freaking out on Callie. I'm not much of a Callie fan and I'm not a Callie hater either but it was a good scene. Izzie is VERY protective of her friends. In turn George refusing her apology was gold! :)

Obviously, the Denny/Izzie tender touch passing in the hall way. That one moment was worth it for me :) And I'm glad that Meredith could accept thats all she'd get with her McDreamy.

Meredith telling Derek that he knew that her mom had died. That closure scene between Ellis and Meredith was good. She needed to hear that she was anythiing but ordinary.

What I didn't like:

Bonnie continually bleeding and going into shock and all that junk. It wore off its welcome after the first two times. I get it, she wasn't ready to die.

Denny. Yeah he was starting to bother me. Sorry, I never liked his character and I didn't like him taking Izzie from Alex. I thought his death was very predictable. I liked the moment he shared with Izzie but thats it about him.

Addison telling Mark that she wished Derek had cared for her the way he cares for Meredith and then making a 60 day deal with Mark. If he can keep his penis in his pants for 60 days she'd consider trying a real relationship with him. (How would she know if he had sex or not?!)

Ellis dying before Meredith had a "real" chance to say goodbye to her mom.

Izzie losing it on Callie. She didn't deserve it and its time that Izzie accepted the fact that GEORGE GOT MARRIED no matter what Izzie's opinion is!

Overall I think the goods outweighed the bads and it was a good episode, just not the best.

Don't hate me, but I think Addison (Kate) really overacted in the past few episodes. Maybe its the writing, I don't know. My roommate and I made fun of her when she says "Don't do this Meredith. You can't do this" or whatever she says. Talk about overdramatic! It was like a bad soap opera (I guess thats actually every soap opera...)

Denny was much cooler now that he is dead than when he was alive.. I didn't like him that much then. I know, I know, everyone loves Denny, I'm a mean b*tch blah blah blah

Last episode sucked so bad though. Addison's and Marks exchange was funny or well good. McSteamy is sooo McSteamy.

Ha I didn't watch most of the 2nd season (...i should buy the dvd)...so denny to me is just "oh that dead guy they were all obsessed about at the start of this season..."

Actually that's probably why I found most of the purgatory boring, didn't remember much about the characters.

And why I like addison, seems like she had the most natural, albeit conlicted reactions to what was going on.

That last episode was okay. I'm still waiting for this season's "wow" episode, the one that gives you goose bumps like last season's finale. The scene with Izzy crying over Denny and Alex comforting her was very emotional. Anyone know if next week's will be a new episode?
