AUSIELLO: What the hell happened?!Brace yourselves, Grey's Anatomy fans: The show has parted ways with a female doc who is blond, beautiful, outspoken – and not Katherine Heigl. It's Brooke Smith. As in Dr. Erica Hahn. As in one half of Callica, Grey's first-ever significant gay couple. And that's only part of the story. I'm told this was not Shonda Rhimes' decision but rather an order that came down from the network. (ABC declined to comment.) According to one Grey's source, the suits "had issues" with both the explicit direction Callica was taking (think: undiscovered country, south of the border, etc.) and, more importantly, with the Hahn character in general. Basically, they didn't like her and wanted her gone ASAP. But how soon? And what does this mean for Callica? Keep yourselves braced, because the shocks don't stop in the following Q&A with the sublime Ms. Smith. She deserves better treatment than this, and next go-round, here's hoping she gets it.

He's SO HAWT.
oh my, it makes so much sense!

true...December, that rumour would make sense but it's been squashed already by the writers so I don't see it happening.

Izzie could possibly have a mental illness but nothing that'd take her off the show.
Hopefully we'll get some sort of conclusion to this mystery next episode - I believe it's the last one Denny is going to appear in if memory serves!
It's just weird and contradictory because if Izzie were to have a tumor it would probably mean she is not going to live past the finale like that statement. So I'm guessing that goes for another character? Because according to abc, she is definitely staying put. I believe she said so herself as well. I wonder how everything will pan out if she talks to Alex about what she's been seeing because we know he has a history that's familiar with illness (his mother, rebecca, etc) and would he take Izzie seriously and support her? Or be in denial like he was with Rebecca.Despite causing quite a stir after blaming poor story lines for her decision to drop out of the 2008 Emmy race, Katherine Heigl is not out at Seattle Grace. In fact, says it has a mind-blowing storyline full of twists and turns all planned out for Dr. Stevens.
“She’s absolutely staying with the show,” ABC programming chief Steve McPherson said Wednesday. “There’s an unbelievable storyline for her this year that’s essential to everything that’s going on with the season.”
I'm excited for next week.
And then, of course, there’s Izzie. Who is clearly still connected to Denny, even beyond the grave…
Here’s what I’ll say about Denny.
I want you to take a moment, and just think for a second. About what you would do if someone you lost, who was unbelievably important to you, suddenly showed up in your room. Right now. While you’re sitting at your computer and reading this blog and suddenly feeling a chill on the back of your neck and hearing, from behind you, in a familiar voice: “Hi.” It’s someone – your lover, your parent, your grandparent, your best friend, your ex-fiancée… someone you thought was gone forever and suddenly now they are right there. Standing next to you. Asking you to talk to them, asking you to hold their hand.
Sure, at first you’d be scared and freaked out and seriously considering the possibility that you might very well be crazy… but in the next moment, what would you do? You have wished every day since that person left that you could see them, touch them, just one more time. What would you do?
I know what I’d do. I’d take my dead dad’s hand. And we’d sit there and stay up all night talking about all the things we never got a chance to talk about. And I wouldn’t care if he was dead or if I was crazy because it would be so great just to hear his voice again.
So, can you imagine, if you were Izzie, what you might do if Denny suddenly appeared to you? And after trying to ignore him, and trying to say goodbye to him, and even after BURNING his fricking sweater, he was STILL there…
All I’m saying is… maybe this is one connection that gets to defy all logic and common sense and, instead, maybe it just gets to be. Even if it does seem too good to be true.
