What's your method? How often do you go? Do you make a meal plan? Or is it just random? Do you clip coupons?

I seem to have three seperate lists...

Organic foods (fruits, veggies, meats)
Grocery Items (canned, packaged, etc)
99 cents store/target (drinking straws, paper towels, napkins, supplies, etc)

let's share....:flower:

I'm awful, I more or less do my grocery shopping at 7-11...

I don't really cook much, though... :innocent:

More often than not, my husband and I go to the store every day. My husband loves to cook so when he gets home from work we decide what we're in the mood for and then go buy the necessary ingredients. We always keep a grocery list so if we need general items we just pick them up when we're dinner shopping (unless it's from a specialty store, then we wait for the weekend).

we go once a week, on sundays, and we buy pretty much the same thing every week. loads of fruits and vegetables, some chicken breasts, a loaf of bread, and some dressings and marinades, if needed.

once a week, typically on saturdays, unless i need something for a dish... but i don't cook that often so i don't really go with a meal plan in mind.
i usually buy salad, a loaf of bread, bananas, milk, yogurt, eggs, and often some sweets like biscotti. i only buy meat if i'm cooking something specific...

I go when I run out of basic staples or I feel the need to get exotic. Everything else is a weekly thing.

I live with my older brother, so he drives me to some big super market for big shopping, and in between if we need something we get it at our local shop. Everyday stuff like bread, we always get at a little local shop.
We buy veggies and fruit at a market tho (really good and fresh stuff).
I'm in charge of all the shopping, cuz he is too lazy to think about that :p. I always make a list, so I don't forget something that I will later on need.

We're basically the same ..except I'm the one who loves to cook not my husband.

So once a week shopping seems to be popular here. I agree. I just have to stay focused with going once a week. Thanks everyone. :)

Once a week for me, too. Just often enough to get fresh fruits and veggies.

And what's normally on my list?

Eggs, turkey, chicken, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, apricots, oranges, wheat pasta, cheese, Nutigrain bars, nuts, wheat bread... keeping in mind that I bring my own food to work, too. :)

I love going to the store. I usually do it Fridays after work, so it's a nice way to wind down before the weekends begins. Call me silly!

grocery shopping is one of my favorite things to do :D
i go probably every other day to buy fresh produce (mostly cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, grapefruits, apples, oranges, and zucchini), whole wheat bread, Wheaties, and yogurt and i go to sam's club for salmon

I go to the grocery store way too much because I do not plan......I never know what I am going to be in the mood for and if I get everything in one trip, sometimes I let things go rotten. I usually end up going about 4 times a week.

I'm relatively new to the whole cooking scene.. so when I go grocery shopping I usually get stumped and I don't know what to buy because I don't know what to cook...

THe things I usually buy though are soymilk, bananas, eggs, bread, some random vegatble I'm in the mood for, cereal

Then I buy whatever I need for my meal.. which is usually stir fry (veggies and chicken) or spaghetti... good ol easy to make spaghetti..

I'm really into Italian Cuisine and I love tomatoe sauces and pastas. So.. when I'm off for grocery shopping, I'll spend most of the time in the pasta area hehe.

i go almost every day. Basically if the checkers don't see me they get a little worried.

that's me grocery shopping.. yes, my tongue was a bit out. lol

I go about every two weeks to stretch out my dollars. One paycheck is lots of food time another is all i can get for $20 time.
Usually I tend to get things like whole wheat pasta, sauce, frozen chicken breasts, lots of veggies, some bananas, soy milk, tuna, and cheese. I eat lots of cheese.

omg that's so me!
'cept i'd happily go every day - to different supermarkets, deli's and green-grocers too.
i love food and can't cook - won't eat what i cook 'cuz it's just so awful.
my husband's a great cook and he'll throw something together on weekends.
other than that, we eat out lunch every day.

in summer, i love getting fresh and fully ripened seasonal fruits
otherwise i won't touch them all year.

in winter, live off of:
lamb
shrimp
canned roma tomatoes
frozen spanish veggies
coconut oil
italian herbs
Barry's tea
cream
sugar
McVitties bickies
frozen wild blueberries
potatoes
basmati rice
loads of vidalia onions

in summer, less meat, more veggies and fruit.
never get rid of tea, cream & sugar.
can live off of:
super sweet grape tomatoes and hummus w/ black olives

my diet sucks!!!

^ I am sitting here right now thinking about stopping by the grocery store on the way home and what do I want to eat this evening.

I'm a once-a-week gal too. Pretty standard list:- apples, carrots, cherry tomatoes, celery, potatoes / sweet potatoes, wholemeal bread, cheese, tuna, soup mixes, pasta, pasta sauce, mushrooms (to add to my pasta sauce - I love loads of mushrooms in my sauce), eggs, biscuits / cookies, some munchies and occasionally (when the stuff runs out) olive oil, coffee, wine .... that's all i can think of
