I've seen a lot of people wearing ribbon belts (I even own two of them) but I was wondering what other people out in the world thought of them?

You have to admit....they are cute....well I think so ;) :flower:

Yeah, I think they're less of a trend item now and more of a preppy classic.

You know, I sort of like the kind with the whales on them. They're whimsical. They're more old school preppy I guess, since they don't really seem to jive with the preppy looks I know and dislike today. Oh, and I pretty much like any and all animal motifs. (Well, not butterflies...dang Mariah Carey. :innocent: )

i like them, but i prefer this style in leather.

btw, satin, velvet or just plain cotton ribbons worn as belts are quite hot in my part of the woods (without metal loops)
it can be any kind of ribbon, thin or wide and girls just tie them around their waist in a tiny bow, quite cute.

Wow, I've been seeing the whole ribbon and satin belts going on, especially on dresses and skirts and I just love it. I think it look sooo pretty.

I've seen quite a bit of the satin pink ribbon tied around the waist...so much so I'm getting a little bored with it already. What I do like is using ribbons with texture or solorful pattern, like woven in.

I have lots that I'm preparing to wear myself.

I'm a big fan of D-rings. I've incorporated gros-grain straps on a couple of pairs of pants I have made lately--on one pair, they hold the back pocket flaps shut!

I am thinking about making a few belts like this since they are easy and a good way to add variety and color to a wardrobe. Also, I might be able to sell them with some other accessories I have been making (hats, choker/collars, and cuff bracelets, mostly).

What do you all think of a cuff-bracelet made in the style of a very small D-ring ribbon belt?

I had one that came with a pair of shorts awhile back.. didn't care for it. Using actual RIBBON is a cute belt idea, in my opinion... of course, this comes from someone who wore a duct tape belt once...
