Eeek! Even more the reason to buy yourself a fresh, brand-new helmet without even so much as a nick or a scratch, and the highest SNELL rating you can find.

I know a couple of guys who have had hellacious wrecks with motorcycles like that--one of them brought his helmet in to the office to show us after he got out of the hospital, and the top of it was cracked in two places and half of the face-mask looked like it had been sandblasted. If he hadn't been wearing a good, strong helmet, all that damage would have gone straight to his head!

Seriously do not buy a second hand bike helmet. Considering the helmets purpose, I'd say forking out for a brand new one is a little price to pay compared to your life.
