Gucci F/W 09.10 Milan

this is a lesson in how to make the 80's more revolting. nothing even looks WORTH the prices. too shiny. too tacky. too much.

i do like her suiting tho

I can't even.....

It's too....

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Seriously, right now I can't even form a coherent insult. I wasn't just laughing looking through the photos, I SNORTED. This collection is just plain funny, and the cobbler woman needs to STOP trying to do sex and glamour. I mean, she's bad in general, but when she tries to do something sexy or glamourous it's just....ugh, no words.

I actually don't hate this? The polka dot pieces are kind of gross, but on the whole I don't think it's as horrific as people are making it out to be. I think that people have just gotten into such a habit of hating Frida that they take any piece that they don't like and turn it into an excuse to bash the entire collection.

^ Either that or this collection just makes Balmain look tasteful by comparison.

what an eyesore

literally. all that shiny material against the black background is giving me a headache

I'm honestly more interested in the runway floor!

It looks like shattered glass.

I think I like some of this collection, but not all!

like the shoes:

This might just be the collection that gets Frida fired. I looked over the collection twice and I can't find anything remotely nice. These are Body Shop and Charlotte Russe outfits made with better materials. I'm so done with this chick it's not even funny.

you know what they say?

"once you hit rock bottom, there's no way but up"

Frida surprises me each time by shoveling herself deeper and deeper down, taking a rest every now and then. i gotta applaud that.

I don't see anything here that could explain the $$$$$$$ Gucci demands for their pieces.

Sequined shirt...I can find that for $30 in a local boutique. Same goes for the jackets, polka-dotted dress, belts, etc. etc.

I can shop at Zara and get the same thing for a great deal lesser in price.

Gucci used to stand for something. deep, dark, sensual luxury. unattainability. so chic it hurts and makes you cry.

now it's Zara copying Gucci which copies Zara again.

Yes, to me, the collection looks like clothing you could buy from a shop on the high street - cheap, wearable items that would look great on a night out.

But in terms of it being any of the things I associate with Gucci - it's very far from the mark. The sparkly fabrics look exuberant, but it comes at a price - these clothes do not look expensive or luxurious. All that glitters isn't glamour.

And it means I don't desire to own any of these clothes from the catwalk - I wouldn't pay top dollar for any of it. If I decide I like the look, I'll get it from the high street. And the high street will have a great time producing knock-offs of this collection, magazines will feature 'get the Gucci look top-to-toe for £90' and everyone will buy the cheap copies, and have a good time wearing them.

Is this a joke?

seriously, these pieces are so incredibly simple, it lacks thought. It lacks everything, in a way this collection is just a whole slew of ****ty stuff from the eighties.
I hate those pants with a passion.

This is not design.

omg what did they -do- to her.

actually there is nothing good about this.

You know, we have a really nice sequined blazer in stores now, it's 119 €, the cut is better and it's not so disgustingly shiny. We had that for a week now.
But why am I telling you this? I don't suggest anybody would want to look like she's wearing Gucci...
...oh, wait, Frida must have bought one.

I am not surprised this collection is so weak, judging by the last collection which appeared to be inspired by Zara.

“This is a collection for a dangerous woman,” Giannini said before the show. “She’s a tough woman. She’s not shy. She wants to stand out.”

Oh, oops, she won't.
God, designers and designerettes, it's all nice and dandy that you'll try to fool the buyers to beliving that "recession? oh, that one, well, fashion will cure that with some feel-good" but, 80s revamp? really? Just when we were done with the whole nu-rave crap? REEAALLY?

Paris, save me!

oh im in love with this collection! sure rock n roll blah blah like past seasons...but i really love it! i mean it's somewhat 80's/newwave/rock n roll/ idk. the only thing though i will say negative about it are the polkadot peices. those look somewhat bad.

i do hate the collection except for the polka dot
pieces..the mens collection was a lot better though

I really love this collection..It seems that the fashion industry has the whole rock and roll bad *** Balmain thing going on...
