Gucci Gift ‘Chapter 3’ 2024 : Tina & Solange Knowles by Anthony Seklaoui

I like Solange and I like the photo of her curled up in the chair. But despite the glimpse of a Christmas tree, it doesn’t say Holiday or gifting to me. Doesn’t say Gucci, either. Hard to imagine what the thought process was.

I like the Alexis Morrell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan that Tina is giving. I hate Solanges toes that don't fit in the shoe.

This looks like it was shot between therapy sessions in a psych ward, complete with that awful overhead lighting. How many more chapters do they have stockpiled straight from the Girl, Interrupted set?

This is absolutely terrible and impossibly cringe. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I thought Gucci was supposed to be pursuing "brand elevation" and "timeless appeal"? How is this anything of a remotely elevated or timeless nature?

Seriously, this brand is in self-destruction mode. Bad decision after bad decision, crashing its brand value and image into the ground at lighting speed.

Who was in charge of this anyway? Didn't they get someone from Loro Piana to lead Global Communications? Or is this catastrophe the fault of Ben Cercio? If so, good riddance, because this is really as low as you can go.

For goodness sake, even Zara has a more prestigious and elevated advertising campaign than Gucci does at the moment! These people should hire their heads in shame for coming up with a concept like this.

Besides the obvious productproductproduct approach (random Rayon-Knit-Top from Zara?! Solanges Jacket was literally at every single thrift store for the last 30 years before they were all bought and now owned by the worst guys in their mid 20s that are so into style) and the strange styling choices (Tina Knowles looking like she got her hair and makeup done by the local wedding-make-up-artist), you really have to wonder what happened to fashion photography. Not every single thing has to be some Meisel-esque Fantasy Production (not even the Meisel Productions are), but this is just downright BAD? In a very strange way. Like, something that you'd put on Facebook ten plus years ago. Bad lighting, bad set-up, bad resolution even. Is there really so much draw with celebrities (using the term lightly here), that everything else dosen't matter an therefor not considered important?

Also a top-secret tip that is only known by fashion-insiders at the very top: don't choose the sample piece from your collect that has loose stitching at the hem OR if the clothes were fitted on set maybe get somebody who is able to sew a hem properly OR if all these very technical highly complicated options are not available to you, maybe don't point the leg with the sh*tty hem directly at the camera.
