Gucci Menswear S/S 2024 Milan

Why even do this?
Because they need new bags every 3 months ? See what stick with the customers and ditch the rest.
BTW I keep my eye on the horsebit elongated clutches on looks 6 and 19, they have real potential.

I'm surprised that they didn't do a full collection and an accompanying show, but I'm guessing that it's best to leave the buzz and budget for the main act coming in September.

Zara is more fashion forward than this.
Oh true, I said the same thing about Valentino, but be careful about what we wish because we could end with a disaster à la Fendi...
On a second note, their tailored suits here are extremely interesting to me... similar to their current Gucci Vault x Husbands Paris collab.

I liked most of it. very wearable and not detached from past years Gucci. Some looks were not necessary and the logos are hideous but most of it I wanna wear

I feel like this should have been expanded and presented as a runway show instead of those cruise or F/W 23 collections which were full of... interesting choices. The styling is much more digestable and there is a hint of style in those looks, what is quite an achievement for a collection designed without any particular direction. That's also why it's easy to wear, it just has to sell.

Easy-To-Wear.
I feel the brand tries to molt their DNA and get lost.
The distorted monogram makes me dizzy and the disco ball look is a tragic ending.

the ending look ERL tried to copy but it also looks bad

A few of the long, lean, 70s-hustler looks that thankfully takes it design cues from Margiela's men rather than Michele’s Gucci boys, have staying power potential. Of course you’d have to be 6’3” and a willowy and serpentine 140lb Jim Morrison twink— but fashion should never be fair to everyone. Too bad they blatantly don’t care— or likely even incapable of to make any effort in actually expanding on the aesthetic beyond a few looks— literally, there’s only a few looks but still so much stronger, desirable and shows more personality than that completely useless Prada offering, with its sloppy 4 first-draft looks recycled ad nauseam, and bloated to a collection where the standout element is… slime LOL
