Gwyneth Paltrow

She looks gorgeous in purple. I love it on her and she needs to wear it more. Cool shoes.

Great dress and amazing shoes, but the limp hair ruins it for me. What's with those rich ladies and bad hair?

attending a signing for her new book It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes that Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great at Williams-Sonoma on Friday (April 5) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Those are probably the least offensive looking shoes she has worn in a while. :ninja: The Michael Kors ones she wore with the purple Victoria Beckham dress. Hideous. I just hate all things neon. If only the orange strap were black like on the runway. I feel like yet again, this press tour for Iron Man is just going to pale in comparison to the 2008 one.

Her shoes can't do no wrong in my book. I think the neon strap of te MK shoes were perfectly unexpected in contrast with the purple dress, black would have been predictable and boring.

Fashionwise she's less and less interesting, more so on public appearances. It's always a safe route, minis, high heels, straight hair, and a lot of body showing. Ok, she has a killer body, great legs, great arms, we know. But sometimes dressing up can be creative, surprising, avant garde, risky, and so on. I remember her in A Gucci tux back in the day and I was like WOW. Now it's always safe, and predictable. Even the bob was new and daring. This hair is sooo yawn.

Yeah, I agree. She knows her image/style too well. Thank god though she isn't wearing those back-less, slits up to there long gowns or minis that she wore the entire year Country Strong came out.

But even back in the day, she never really took that many risks. Nor did she ever aspire to be like Cate Blanchett when it came to being experimental.

+1. Sometimes I feel the new pics are old pics. No surprises on her outfits or general look :(

It isn't surprising she's safer fashion wise most of the time (apart from her amazing shoes of course). Most of the time she's promoting a cookbook or some other fitness fad so she needs to appear approachable in order to sell those things. When she's promoting a film, which is rare nowadays, she tends to be a bit more out there. She's known more now for being a branded personality rather than an actress and therefore her image and fashion has to be a bit safer.

"Approachable" is one of the last words that come to my mind to depict her style. Safe, showing off her body, repetitive, she wears dresses that are more appropiate for twentysomethings. She has a GREAT body, i know, I know, but she could still have it and wear more interesting dresses. It's just my opinion. You can have a great body and still cover it sometimes. Yes, the slits and crisscrosses from country strong were the worst. Now she has this uniform: minidress, heels flat hair. OK ....but yawners.

You call it "safe," I see casual, chic and knowing her style and wearing what she likes. If she was more experimental/avant-garde like her friend Gwen Stefani, it would be a different set of criticism.

Honestly, the problem for me isn't that she's safe. Some of my style icons would probably be considered safe to some people and to me that shows personal style. Funnily enough, the problem for me is that I feel like she is someone who follows the crowd and there's nothing personal about her style. It's interesting people say her style has remained the same over the years because I feel that it changes every few years. Probably because she has had about five stylists. :innocent:

For me, Gwyneth's style will always be at its best when its minimal. The first thing that comes to mind is something white and structured. I think it's okay when she goes with something short, but it just doesn't fit with her personality. She's not that girl, but it feels like she's trying to be that girl -- the hottie with the body who feels the need to show off her legs 24/7. I get that her body is bangin' but at 40 and with two kids, is it really necessary to throw it in everyone's faces like you're some 22-year old who needs everyone's love and attention? I like her better and think she's much cooler when she doesn't try so hard.

Agree 100%. A decade ago she was really somebody who experimented with clothes, and who had a VERY personal style. Nowdays, not so much, at least for me. She hasn´t wowed me since the bob and the first minis, for the 1st IronMan. But that combo got really tired really fast, minus the bob, that I miss sorely.
