A sense of ease and flow defined Halston Heritage’s resort lineup. Creative director Marie Mazelis’ starting point was a 1973 photo of model Naomi Sims in a Halston caftan. She worked that, and some of the house’s other signature silhouettes, with a fresh take. Said caftan, for example, was rendered in gray, red, blush and pink panels of georgette, while an off-shoulder dress was assembled from scarflike squares of satin georgette.
Mazelis’ separates also nodded to the founder. Standouts included the chic asymmetric chiffon top in a subtle reptile print and shown with a suede pencil skirt.
