someone just gave me this album...
anyone else have it?...

any info on this band?...

thanks:flower:

They're from Staines in London......their song 'cash-machine' has become a quite the anthem - they're REALLY huge over here. They really marketed the whole 'we're working class and skint' thing so supposedly they *speak* to the chavs in this country

I don't mind the music....too bad the frontman is a bit of a d***

I have the album, my favourite track is their first single in the UK, Hard To Beat.

Here's some info-

They come from Staines and are predicted to be massive - Hard-Fi are one of the brightest names to emerge in 2005. Comprising band members Richard Archer (vocals, main songwriter), Ross Phillips (guitars, backing vocals), Kai Stephens (bass) and Steve Kemp (drums), Hard-Fi formed in 2002 and following gigs in their local area, the band were snapped up by Atlantic Records.
Their debut album, Stars of CCTV was recorded in a variety of unusual venues, from a cab office to cars, and was released in July 2005; it reached UK No. 6. The band have so far released four singles from it - Cash Machine (which failed to chart on its original release but made No. 14 in Dec, plus Tied Up Too Tight (No. 15 in April), Hard to Beat ( No. 9 in July) and Living For The Weekend (No. 15 in October). As well as their own sold out gigs, Hard-Fi supported Green Day at their two massive Milton Keynes shows last sumer

Very interesting, an anthem to the chavs?

A mystery member here informed me of this band, they weren't bad. I've dwnlded quite a few of their songs and placed them on one of my mix trade cd's.

Hard to Beat was the song that first got me interested, or maybe it was just because it was the first to finish downloading. Without that song, I may not have given the rest a chance. :D

You took the words out of my mouth susie. I think they are 'marketable' working class. They don't strike me as being similar to punk. Just annoying really.

Hard Fi played at my local HMV (for free, because that's how in demand they were). The whole 'down't pit' bit of Cash Machine is hilarious - it has to be a Bryan Ferry piss-take. And working class? These jokers were shirking class in music, that's for sure...

the show was good...
sold out...very fun...

the lead singer is really funny......

no joke-1/2 the audience were brits...:p

There seems to be a sudden surge of Brit bands moving their way into North America this year

The Bravery
Hard Fi
Arctic Monkeys
Magic Numbers

Even still, they dont seem to make much of an impact with the mainstream crowd, no matter how popular they are in the Uk. Which is something I prefer myself.. -_-
