Harper´s Bazaar Italia N°6 1984 : Janice Dickinson

Janice is awesome...when i first started watching ANTM, it was before I was really into fashion, and I just thought she was a mean lady..but these pictures proves that the woman really knows what she's talking about :)

She's Old Looking In These Photos

If this was 1984 she was already 29 years old, and the photos show her with saggy skin, droopy eyes, and a hard looking face. This was the stage in her career in which she was blackballed by the US modeling industry, and went to Milan to find work. I genuinely can't say she looked great face-wise except for the funky poses.

They're definitely unforgiving shots. Almost no editing, rather sub par make-up, harsh lighting. Was this just before her stint in the rehab? She had an intervention by her family and friends sometime around this time, I think.

But she does pose cool.

At this stage she had already gone to rehab and afterwards she went back to New York and was just as bad as ever, partying and causing as much trouble at photoshoots as she could. That's how she eventually got blackballed and no one in New York wanted to work with her. Then she worked with the photographer Bill King, who was extremely big in the 80s, he shot her nude for Italian Bazaar, these photographs were stunning and the Italians wanted her to go to Milan, and she went. At this stage her career had come to an end, top models go to Europe when their careers are over, she was in demand in Italy because it was considered a second class market compared to New York. Her career had come to a close in Milan.

I just noticed these wonderful classic scans of Janice! :woot:

thank you very much SusanSuperstar - karma 4 U! :flower:

Janice was born to be a supermodel, period. And back when she was human looking, she was such a beauty!

New York over Milan? silly.....
