Harper’s Bazaar Australia & New Zealand February 2023 : Angourie Rice by Simon Eeles

So meh imo... with those gloves, they could have gone in many interesting directions...

I like the orange. It's an okay cover to me. She looks so pretty.

Beautiful and the red will make people look, but there's something missing. Maybe the composition had to be more towards the left. Angourie, like Maisie, is a very average-looking girl so it's refreshing to see her styled like this.

And I knew the bracelet would be from Tiffany. They way they target the Australian market is so aggressive verging on downright crass.

In the hands of a better photographer, this concept could've been crazy good. Down Under is the worst place to look for fashion-forward anything lol

I don't want to speak ill about countries willynilly but even in Australia's fashion and art circles, what I've seen is very easy, practical fashion with not much happening in the high fashion scene. Not much of a signature either. Let's just say I don't think Australian fashion will be able to take major a spot in the global ecosystem anytime soon. A lot of pressure is on Christine to connect ones that are creative and show promise with decision-makers abroad but I'm not sure how she can do that with one foot in the country and another in America. She always seemed more invested in American fashion.

I personally disagree with this. I think Australians/New Zealanders have a distinct and signature look and that’s evident given some very talented fashion designers being from there too.

If anyone is the worst, Canada would have to be THE worst place and being from Toronto I can say that lol.

I'm saying all of this as someone who live in Down Under for 22 years. They have neither the resources nor the pedigree to be able to develop any particularly influential "signature", for now. Their product varies from bland to nouveau riche.
