They were on such a good roll, producing original covers, then they had to go and do this...HB US reprint. Review to follow...

Review

Gwyneth's HB US article reprinted, with less pictures. Why would you even bother...

Sweet Child of Mine

Ph: Luke Irons
Model: Julia Nobis
Girly dresses, lots of Louis Vuitton, pastel shades. Pretty, if a bit uninspiring ed. Interesting to see Julia has jumped ship (or is straddling two worlds?), having been a very exclusive Vogue Aus girl, now in HB...

Sea Stars
Ph: Richard Burbridge
Model: Bambi Northwood-Blyth
Aquatic features in the recent collections featured; mainly accessories. 6 pages, only one where you can really recognize Bambi.

Carine Roitfled article (a reprint?)

Street Smart
Ph: Tommy Ton
Modesl: Hanne Gaby Odiele, Ming Xi
Suspect this is a reprint. Bold colors on the streets of New York. Meh...

Jazz Club
Ph: Karl Lagerfeld
Models: Arizona, Joan, Saskia
Repint AGAIN? Typical Karl black & white work.

For shame, HB Aus. Reprints galore and hardly any original editorial work. You had been doing so well. The higher the rise, the further you can fall.

Wow...really flat issue it seems! And Julia hasn't been in Vogue Aus in ages...shame!

I have nothing against a serviceable reprint. But I loathe those Alexander McQueen shoes.

definitely sounds disappointing! i've been loving the contents and covers lately.

wow, they re-printed almost the entire US HB march issue! what a let down

am always excited about her covers too bad this is a reprint

It's not a problem because it's a reprint, the problem is the fact it's an awful picture !

^ There is also a bridal supplement (quite thick) that comes with the newsstand cover if you elect to pay $3 extra. Not sure what is in it as it was all packaged up in cellophane. That is one of the annoying things about being a subscriber. Apparently being a loyal customer means you get short-changed regularly rather than rewarded: subscribers don't get any supplements or gifts that come with the usual newsstand cover. Rather rude I must say.

^^I completly agree with you, as a subscriber I share your frustration. We fork out a whole lump payment to get the issue delivered to us for the year, yet we're not entitled to the bonus freebies or supplements that people who buy the issues in store get.

^ Its like they have the attitude of 'now that we've got you, move over'. Stop enticing non-subscribers to buy and maybe reward your existing customers for committing and staying.

^ I did send them an angry email, and they told me I should be grateful to get the discounted rate, which is their 'gift' to me, saving 10 bucks! I suppose I should be grateful too that I get 'special' subscriber's covers as my reward for being a loyal customer!

My feeling is that I've have shown a deep commitment in them and their product by forking up all my cash at the start, having faith that they will produce good content every month, rather than a person in the shop, who could flick through a poor issue (like this month's, ahem...), and put it back on the shelf. Can't see them keeping subscribers in the long run if they keep treating them with such disrespect.
