What the hell is going with the posing for the first cover?

The second cover is better I guess, but there isn't anything happening or anything special going on here. Its just meh, It doesn't scream ICON at all.

First cover is so awful I don't even know what else to add to that. A real contender for my least favorite cover of the month, and that's in a month of misfires.


Side note: by what barometer could Shailene Woodley possibly be considered an Icon? I like her, so I'm not being shady at all, I just genuinely think it's hilarious to be mentioning her an an icon alongside people like Kate, Celine, Alek, and Christy.

This seems to be one of those Septembers where very few of Carine's images are suited to covers. But these global editors will jump at the chance to have a semi-exclusive Kate Moss cover, photographed by Sorrenti too.......

Side note: by what barometer could Shailene Woodley possibly be considered an Icon? I like her, so I'm not being shady at all, I just genuinely think it's hilarious to be mentioning her an an icon alongside people like Kate, Celine, Alek, and Christy.

Same applies to Lakeith Stanfield. Many people don't even know who he is. I imagine Carine just sort of pull the names from a hat, or if you can make interesting chatter with her at a show or party, you're on the Icons list!

I'm sure this newly fabricated Anna Dello Russo persona who gives a crap about fashion is a lot of fun but that does not an icon make. Same for Alicia Keys.. first of all who even says 'I'm going to play some Alicia Keys right now'? and is she still not wearing makeup? because that's her only remotely fashion-related contribution.

Celine, whether you like her or not, is a musical icon though. So her being described as an icon makes a lot of sense. Alicia has been very successful, I am not always sure when someone could be described as an 'icon', but she was massive during her first three era's.

Admittedly, I’m glad to see more than just one the sole token Asian at any given time when they pull these sort of lists out of their ***es, but were there actually no other Asian star they could think of besides someone who’s only ever been a part of an ensemble cast, and not even a lead star? But ultimately, it’s Harper’s Bazaar: Being bestowed an icon by them is as relevant as winning the Canadian Art & Fashion Award for best designer… Nobody cares.
