i just wanted to let everyone know that harper's bazaar and unicef are holding a charity handbag auction on ebay, with all proceeds going to the tsunami victims. there's lots there... a white dior detective medium bag with a hand-written note from john galliano and a red balenciaga classique to name a few... it's great! ^_^

here's the link to the dior detective bag... the other bags in the auction can be found at the bottom of the page under "see more items from this seller"

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Dear Shoppers,

Welcome to the Harper's Bazaar/UNICEF Charity Handbag Auction, to benefit victims of the tsunami.

The outpouring of support from around the globe following this tragedy has been both overwhelming and inspirational. However, the need for medicine, food, housing and other basic supplies and the money to pay for them all is unending.

Consider this auction the ultimate opportunity to donate to a worthy cause and at the same time score one of spring's hottest It bags. Please bid generously: 100% of our net profits will go directly to UNICEF's Tsunami Relief Fund. Shopping for handbags has never been so fulfilling!

On behalf of Harper's Bazaar, UNICEF, eBay, Portero and all the designers and celebrities who kindly donated their bags, I want to offer you my most sincere thanks for participating in this auction.

Happy shopping! Bid high and often; remember every little bit helps!

Best regards,

Glenda Bailey

Oh I saw this too! They had the Chloe brown Paddington as well..I would have liked to make a bid but it was only for US residents. :(

since this is obviously a reliable seller, i may try to get the red dolce bag with necklace handle...its going for way under retail so far:innocent:

I was looking at the site a few moments ago and agree that there are numerous wonderful items! :D

while looking at the pictures of these auctions, I realized that they are a really good resource for people who want to know about checking authenticity, since the seller is obviously reputable, and they show each item in every angle!!! very handy.
in fact, Ill post in the balenciaga thread right now...
