Harper’s Bazaar France August 2023 : Laetitia Casta by Deo Suveera & Pamela Dimitrov

She looks more old Madonna than Laetitia... such a snoozfest imo

The cover story and the America Gonzales' ed are TOO natural for my taste (one Teller is more than enough; thanks, but no thanks!), while the rest are surprisingly good. Especially, Olivier Kervern's & Oliver Hadlee Pearch's ones!

And last, but certainly not least, this is just for my LOVE @aracic :heartsuit::

LINDA EVANGELISTA & STEVEN MEISEL LOVE STORY

In 1987, her curved eyebrows, her feline gaze and her chameleon DNA seduced the fashion photographer. He will never cease to immortalize it. A book, Linda Evangelista Photographed by Steven Meisel, brings together these exceptional images. In forty years, Steven Meisel has redefined the canons of beauty, building his signature with a flair for the obvious, an incredible sense of fashion and an instinct for authenticity. His inventive stagings, always daring, in tune with cultural, political or societal concerns have marked the history of photography. In front of her lens, Linda Evangelista plays the mysterious-looking femme fatale. Elected the greatest model of all time, she was spotted in the mid-1980s, before stopping her studies to go to work in New York where her charm and her personality operate. Now Supemrodel, the Canadian paraded for the most prestigious fashion designers such as Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent or Versace, and posed for more than 700 covers. This sublime monograph of 190 shots is "a celebration of creative friendship and a gesture of gratitude for the lives and careers that have been given to us", she confides.

Linda Evangelista Photographed by Steven Meisel, preface
by William Norwich (ed. Phaidon), in bookstores on September 13.

I like the eds overall, not all images work but i like this exercise. The only thing missing is one story from the cover, studio more classic just to balance all the contents.......the sean thomas is very Bruce Weber....
Thanks @Zorka for sharing...

This is a disaster.

Laetitia looks ugly on half of the pictures.

Hopefully, I know how beautiful she is in real

Because the spread Laetitia Naturellement is everything you shouldn't do in photography.

Bad lightening, the cropping is made by a 2 years old, the close-ups are horrible (close-ups are usually used to bring to light to the beauty of something or someone) and Laetitia looks plain bored and unattractive.

I was expecting beautiful studio shots like the one on the cover (who is not a bad picture but not good either) timeless classic beauty shot and yeah, none of that.

Laetitia is choosing her photo shoots like her movies : badly.

Laëtitia Naturellement and Rue des plaisirs are great. The rest is a bit confused…I don’t know. Messy would be the right word maybe.

Thank you, @Zorka :hearthands:

I actually sort of like this because it shows Laetitia in a different light than I would've expected, so that's interesting despite the fact that I don't find this style of imagery overly appealing. My favourite is the Weber imitation and then Oliver Hadlee Pearch's offering.

Laetitia ages beautifully. She reminds me a lot of Silvana Mangano in her later years. Maybe that's why I like UN ANGE DANS LA VILLE ed. It's very Pasolini. RUE DES PLAISIRES and LAETITIA FOREVER are also good. I think I will buy this issue.

I think she photographs incredibly even if some of the shots are questionable.
