Principal photography has completed on "Decameron: Angels & Virgins," after 9 weeks of filming in Rome and Tuscany, Italy.
An Italian-British-French co-production the film is based on Giovanni Boccaccio's classic works of 'The Decameron'. This modern interpretation is written and directed by David Leland who returned to the original text to weave its many tales into a single narrative aimed to be full of vitality, humour and passion.
The film stars Hayden Christensen, Mischa Barton and Tim Roth. The ensemble cast includes Craig Parkinson, Chris Egan, Kate Groombridge, Rosalind Halstead, Matthew Rhys, Rupert Friend, Ryan Cartwright, Nigel Planner and David Walliams.
With "Decameron: Angels & Virgins," David Leland has created an original and irreverent comedy inspired by the 14th Century but with a modern spin (including original costumes, music and contemporary dialogue) that will appeal to teenage audiences who will relate to the classic problems with sex and love faced by Boccaccio's young characters. It tells a timeless tale full of irreverence and humour - rich with passion and sexuality.

my friend in Italy told me that she imagines Elisabetta to be playing a loose kind of nun b/c she has read the story and is also familiar with Elisabetta's "work"
