Hedi Slimane - Designer

I read somewhere that he makes around 10 million euros a month from Celine — is that actually true for a CD? If it is, I’m pretty sure no one else would ever pay him that much again.

It’s false…
More like a year, without bonuses and royalties.

I had a good laugh when it came by on my feed, very very petty. Hes a great art director, wish he had the courage and resources to do his own brand. But it aint easy building a brand from scratch.

What will be his next move? I can't see him do anything else, I really wouldn't want him at Armani. He should have stayed put at Celine and really pushed it even harder and develop the women's into a more serious endeavour.

I don’t think 'skills' are the reason he isn’t designing for a house right now - With the full support of the Arnauds, it seems rather unlikely Celine gave him the boot, as he fulfilled their task of revenue growth, even with a very selective PR strategy.

I think he’s a limited womenswear designer even if his last two Celine womenswear collections were really good. In the end I think it was great for him that his Celine womenswear really did have an impact. He could’ve gone further with what he was showing before he left but alas I don’t know why he left when everything’s been handed to him. Maybe the prospect of going to Chanel? It seems that he’s frustrated that the only job he wants didn’t go to him, it felt like his Celine tenure was a warm up.

You just cannot do Hedi Slimane without serious investments. Not to the standard he wants. He priced himself out. The only houses that could afford him just became recently filled.

Collectively though I think we need a break from him. It’s just weird for me if his career ends in Celine.

I need to see a Hedi Slimane focus his energy on getting back to Christian Dior and doing both womens and mens. Blazy isnt going anywhere Im afraid.
Agreed.
the suits have convinced Blazy to cut the number of panels on jackets from 8 to 6 and use more viscose and other cheaper material.
He is a corporate man now. Heidi would have said hell no.
