weighty, sumptuous, and perhaps above all ... rich
I never know if I will like a Hermes collection what is annoying.
I like what I see this time. Its a bit forgettable tho.
I can't think of a better review than: umm, sort of.
Which is really all the review this deserves.
It's beautifully constructed and technically the ideal summer collection with just the right amount of creative elements. But I feel there's too much reliance on the Hermes colour scheme, and aesthetic, if you can call it that. It looks very much like the clothing accompaniment to their bread-and-butter accessories which is fine, but Nicolas has proved that it's not neccesary for the mainline and accessories to align. I still think his collections are atrocious, but he did set a new standard with that clash. So much that this seems like a very commercial offering.
By the time she reached the evening looks she must've been over it because everything is a bit nondescript towards the end.
I feel like this type of thing was already done much better by the Jil Sander guys back in Milan. This lacks bite and it's a bit too 2007 for me.
It still feels contrived, I miss the elements chicness and effortless.
Hermès needs a real designer.
What was great about Margiela, Gaultier and Lemaire is how they tried to adapt their aesthetic to the house. It was a personality meeting with a brand’s DNA.
Even Tod’s is better than Hermès.
This is a house where you have access with the best fabrics and a clientele ready to spend a big amount of money.
We want beautiful leathers, beautiful drapés, beautiful plissés..etc.
This is not timeless!
This is bad.
Nadège is bad and insufferable. She deserves a position as design director not more imo. Hermès needs drama, excess. It is not like they will not sell because they have so many iconic bags and accessories so why not be bold ?!
very chic and well made luxerycollection
