I know dumb question but I think I've been saying it wrong this whole time (to myself) :blush:
 
Ehr-mehz

...H isn't pronounced and the the accent grave on the last E gives it the 'mehz' sound.
 
it would sound like 'Er -mess 'in French

but you can say air-mezh too

The 'ehz' bit is slightly stressed and made longer, yes...
 
i have heard so many mispronounce hermes... heir may with no s is the most common.... and it is pretty logical.....
 
yes true, usually in french you dont pronounce the "S" but because there is the "accent" like this one "è" before the "S" you gotta pronounce it :wink:
