Honestly the Balmain comparisons aren't even fair considering that Balmain under Decarnin is constantly referencing Herve Leger....

I mean, is Balmain the only house to ever make sparkly, trashy-glam mini dresses?

The first few pictures were totally not selling this to me, but as I saw more of it I started to like it because as a few others have pointed out, he's expanded on the Leger look and given us something different. I like that he took the whole Amazonian spirit of Leger and made it kind of literal.

    Yeah obviously Balmain influenced...
Its a good collection overall but I feel he may be alienating the regular HL customer... I wonder how this collection will fair commercially....
It could be another problem like the house of Valentino.

I love it. Different from what they've been doing... more exciting to me!

I'm with Spike on this one. I think we're all giving Decarnin way too much credit by saying this is "SOOO BALMAIN!!!"

I'm not dying over this collection...it's nice, but I will probably forget it tomorrow.

actually your right spike lol , my bad , hahah it is herve leger , balmain ripped of his 80s designs , him and mugler lol , but the other NYC designers do ridiculously copy current balmain and givenchy a lot...you have to admit that

After seeing this collection as a whole I don't think it's totally Balmain by Decarnin... But I still see a Narciso Rodriguez and Balenciaga inspiration. I don't like it, last fall was better .

I definitely don't hate it. I'm a fan of the squared off shoulders, and I especially like the dresses on both Anabela B. and Anna S.

I'm actually gonna spin around what Spike is saying too that it doesn't live up to Decarnin's Balmain. This collection is rock glamour. Decarnin's work (in the first few collections, which were his best, which we'll never see again) look like what Kurt Cobain would have done if he was a diamond sculptor.

This collection isn't the most historical but the Leger brand can be immortal if it knew, as it's learning, how to move on...
