High Waisted Skirts

Petitechou, I LOVED that skirt in the catalog but I looked it up on the website to order it and it looks completely awful in the online pics....I'm desisting for now but would be curious to see it in person.

Some of you may remember from the yay or nay thread, but I was debating on a high-waisted skirt from Vanessa Bruno. It came in last week, and I LOVE it! It's mini and definitely fitted and high waisted. I was a little surprised that it turned out to be so high-waisted--I couldn't really tell from the pics on yoox--but it's a flattering silhouette, imo. So I'm happy.

I'm not used to tucking in my blouses and shirts, though, so I'll have to dig through my closet to find ones that work. With HW skirts, you basically have to tuck in your shirt, I think.

This is all very exciting! I always liked high-waisted skirts, more the pleated ones (like the one Ashley Olsen has on in the very post post of this thread, posted by after__eight) than the pencil ones, because I always have these massive urges to break out and run sometimes... I've found that the pencil skirts sort of constrict you a little bit
I also found not long ago some high waisted skirts- pencil and pleated.. all I could say was "wow mum!!! I'm loving this!"

Zara's new collection has an amazing high waisted skirt.

The only person that I've seen pull it off really well so far is the Olsen.

I just ordered this Alexander McQueen high waisted skirt.. I believe it is from his ss07 collection (noticed it on sale back in August, and couldn't forget it..and lucky for me I ordered the last one today..but unfortunately no further reduction in price )

I love this trend! I took my regular black pencil skirt and pulled it up to make it high waisted, then I put a thick black belt at the top to make it tight and it worked out perfectly. It looked like it was a part of the skirt. I would post a picture but I can't figure out how to insert it on here (I'm new) But I will definitely be buying another one soon!
