"Tananbe's drawings are often compared to traditional Japanese woodcuts. His ink drawings are mechanically transformed so that they sometimes seem to blur or move across the page. He explains: 'My drawings are so flat and simple that I try to give them a little more movements by putting things off register'

i love that one he did for anna sui back in 03 or was it 02..i cant remember

what i also like is that despite the very 'modern', streamlined figures there is a touch of old-fashioned prettyness to his backgrounds and colours, a nice cross-over...
