hmmm has any one noticed that like in nearly every sinle collection s/s 2006 there has been a houndstooth/ bw gingham chck pattern? im not too sure i like it too be honest!

funny you should say that, as I have been seeing ginhams for a while now, not only in black/white but red/white , blue/white and in different sizes too.
and they were strong in Ibiza back in June which I always think is a good indications. Am not sure how big or commercial this trend will be, have a feeling it may be big for spring 07 rather than spring 06.
I guess we will have to wait and see!

what?....no...
i haven't seen this anywhere...

except that silly dolce show...but i think that was mostly just for fun...

Yes, me neither..

actually, Luella, Posen and Marc Jacobs have done it too, not too much of it, but it is beginning to appear here and there.

yes...maybe...those are not names that rank high on my radar...

but i would have noticed it it was everywhere because i am a BIG fan of houndstooth...
*but not gingham...:yuk:

and on the mass production front, ben sherman womens ss2006 is all racing check/ska inspired....

verrier
roberto cavalli (amoung many others)

I'm all for this trend. I've been wanting a houndstooth jacket. :innocent:

i used to love it..... check is ok.... but houndstooth.... seen too much of it lately.... especially on ALL those wool coats last winter... :ninja:

I've seen this trend for awhile now, in stores, on the street, and in magazines. It actually seems a bit old to me now.

i hate medium to blown up houndstooth.. and its been trying to get mass attention for at least four seasons now embeded in the 'masculine chic' sections/trends.. close to everyone has been doing this, from Valentino to Jacobs but personally i find it too 'heavy' and highly unflattering

not a checks fan anyway occasionally i may enjoy some tartan but in general i'm not supporting this styles, not even for my clients.. i can;t see them as commercial

i was all about browsing style.com in july. although, the heat here was crazy unhearable, i still couldn't wait to get my hands on some houndstooth.

Houndstooth, OK, but I'll stick to checking only my spelling :innocent:

this is actually so cool that made me go edit a bit my preview post..
i guess its all in how one uses fabrics and not in fabric designs themself..
