is really hard to do a website, you need to know programming in Html pages, Java, know how to use frontpage, dreamweaver etc. and that takes ages to learn, is very difficult.
And then you have to host the site somewhere.
Is really complicated & I dont know much of this bt I found this site: http://www.bluevoda.net/

haha Filipe don't be so discouraging

Making a website is very easy..
or you can make it as complicated as you want

First you do need space on the web
If you buy space, you can do whatever you want.
If you sign up for a free service, sometimes your website will have to have their advertisement banners, etc. (ex. Geocities)

What kind of website do you want to make ?

I know you can get one page of free space from http://www.pitas.com
This service is for blogs/online journals
It is also used as a place to list updates (in a person's work, etc.)
If you use this service, you have to find another space to put your images in... (like imageshack and photobucket are free)

    Any more questions? ^_^

    Advice from a web designer:

Determine what kind of website you want to create. gius has given as example one type: a content-heavy site presented in a blog format. Other examples are thesartorialist.com, popsci.com and wired.com. If this is the kind you want, I suggest you head on over to blogger.com or wordpress.org and create an account. To give your blog site a distinct look, you need to study CSS (or cascading style sheets). You don't need to know everything—just devote a good deal of time (and patience) modifying your blog's appearance: Change the banner image; change the colors of the text, links, background, etc; and you should be good to go. Be sure to update often so people will have something to look forward to!

Another type of website is the informational website. Majority of the sites available in the 'net fall in this category. Sites like these require that you have a fundamental understanding of how a website is run: the index page, where the links go and how they behave, etc. Adobe's Dreamweaver program is my personal favorite in building websites because of its intuitive interface and powerful tools. You can also use iWeb--much, much easier to learn compared to Dreamweaver--if you have a Macintosh computer.

Still overwhelmed with the things you need to learn? Go out and buy a "Web Design for Dummies" book. It's an awesome source of information.

CSS is only used if the same design is to be used in more than one page, no?^ Since it saves time...
Because I always thought you could just do it piece by piece, if you wanted to have a variety of looks. Like have a couple of paragraphs in one font and another in a red colour or one page with a blue background.

    Hello,

I think i can give your some insight since I am a computer science student and I designed a website from scrach. I can tell you how I did it.
    1. First you need to buy a domain. You will have to pay for it, if you want it clean without adds. Search on the internet till you will find one host for a good price or free if you are ok with adds.
    2. Download free trials from http://www.adobe.com/
    You should download:
    dreamweaver cs3: http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/?promoid=BPDEC ,
    flash : http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/?promoid=BPDEE ,
    photoshop: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/family/?promoid=BPDEK

Keep in mind you will have these trials only for 30 days. So download them as you feel you need them. Start with dreamweaver! I have here a tutorial that is from where you should start after you bought the domain :
    http://www.thesitewizard.com/gettingstarted/dreamweaver1.shtml

After that tutorial there is website with video tutorials, very good once, for a really small amount per month. I used it and was very pleased(my school privided it for free)
    http://lynda.com/
Here you search for dreamweaver, flash , photoshop and whatever else interests.
Good luck !! It's not as hard as it seems and you will amazing knowing that YOU DID IT ! :D

Why do I need to first buy the domain? and why I dont buy it when I finish the site?
there´s site to host them that if you pay to host it for 2 years they offer you the domain, you dont pay nothing for the domain:flower:

A domain means that you receive space on the host's server.Host is the company who owns the server.Space in which you create your webpage.Server keep ups are not free. Some websites offer free domains but they come with adds not not much space. There might be different deals on the net which you need to research.
