:bounce: And the stores. :bounce:

All the stores and boutiques have huge, thick boards of very high quality, that I've always thought of asking how I could get a hold of them. They're going to have to change and update it sometime. :woot:

^I've asked countless times at numerous stores about their large boards/poster-sized/banner-style ads, but the answer has always been that they're not allowed to give/sell those ads, because they're still the properties of the apparel company that distributed them.

The sad thing is, they always end up getting thrown away in the end, anyway

Raid the mall dumpster.

Sleep with the store manager. :innocent:

Years ago, in a mad moment of 'teenage shoplifting', I once simply lifted an ad board from a shop and walked out with it - and no-one stopped me.

I used to go round cosmetic counters and ask for the Revlon ad boards that had Cindy Crawford on them, only to find that some fella had usually got there before me with the same request.

Yeah my friend and I went and asked a department store and they said that they werent sure and that we had to come back on wednesday when their perfume manager was there... we didnt go back... i might try again sometime though!

From my experience working at a department store, all you need is the right person to give you access to the waste/garbage collect area of the department store. I don't think asking the boutiques directly would help. They'd probably tell you that they can't sale ,blah blah. And guess what? When the new posters arrived all the old posters were thrown away just like another piece of papers.

So like I said, either go through the garbage or become friend with the shop assistance( still you might have to get them near the dumpster lol). Buying is not an option here.

a good scheme might be to tell the asst. store manager your child is doing a report on the product or "perfume" at school and it sure would earn the kid brownie points if they brought in a poster...or the child is doing a project on "advertising"...

^ I tried doing that for a grad. school project, and the stores told me no :(

Perhaps if was for a child's project, they might say yes. People do have a soft spot for children :D

I've decided that I'm going to ask all the stores this weekend :)

I'm sort of a child?

I really want to frame some and hang them up in my room, I feel inspired!

It's a shame that all the stores throw the posters away :(

Is there a way to get a picture you like turned into a poster?

Sure. Many places to do that like Kinko's or Copy it! but of course, I only know the US locations.
