you're welcome Mullet
I guess he is tenacious business-wise for this type of designer. maybe as tenacious as kawakubo.
it seems that he makes every effort to keep his activity. I was a bit surprised to hear it was him who approached onward/gibo back then. I would not like to take that route if I were a designer, if possible. he might have strong confidence.
and, on the other hand, he is still doing exhibitions and is introducing them for himself energetically to have people understand his total vision or creative side.

also,

"it depends on what I'm doing. Because I like ordinarily-ness as well. It becomes like sorbet. When you all the work, that is so complicated. So it really depends on the balance. But sometimes, I have the sorbet collection, sometimes I have 13 meal collection."
Ha, I like the way you put it: "for this type of designer." It's true! I think people tend to underestimate the vast amount of money required to research and develop the ideas he has, to say nothing of the spectacular runway presentations still expected of him. I doubt he's operated a single season without the financial sword of Damocles hanging over his head - he's even gone bust once before, and that was only a year after the "Afterwords" collection. Clearly the man will do whatever it takes to continue his work, to which I think the deal with Puma, even more so than that with Gibo, is testament.

Thanks to Mulletproof for the thread. It is, of course, a remarkable collection.

not to mention his glorious work with TSE. even though TSE is a bit more open-minded than most it is afterall still a luxury company. but his ideas really worked there somehow.

Found these pics from his Fashion and Back exhibition.. the details are clearer and look even more exquisite.

^those first head shots remind me of that shoot in V spring/summer 2002 with christy turlington on the cover which also had one of those beaded chalayan pieces. eerily similar as they were in almost the exact same position and with a black backdrop.
