oh yeah, i think they'll sell well, they're just not very innovative... like 'new', or 'different', which we've come to expect from apple. the shuffle on the other hand, is! the fashion kids are gonna be all over them.

^ ha i just bought a red ipod nano literally the other day at the apple store... however they did not mention the new ones would be coming out literally the next day!! whatever!!

Maybe it's just me but I don't see what the need is to make everything so tiny. I doesn't appeal to me. I just got a new 30GB video classic size iPod using that student rebate thing when you buy a mac so it only cost me $50. I would so much rather have that since the display is bigger (for watching style.com video podcasts!) and it hold more than I'll probably ever fill it with. And it's still only as big as half a deck of cards....the new colors of the nanos are cute but I'd still with black white or silver anyway....

I just picked up the new Nano yesterday and I just love it. Very cool. I got it on a bit of a whim since I was there to pick up a new laptop and the sales guy showed it to me. I just had to have it I've got poor impulse control when it comes to shopping. Its great though - very very cool interface. I still want that 160GB iPod though - I need a way to store my full music library but for convenience the Nano is great - so teeny tiny and light. I love it.

Though I'm a Mac diehard so I've never really met a product they've made that I don't automatically love

Did you buy it from the 5th Ave store? that store is so cool and open 24/7 when i was in NY last year i went there every day 2 check my mail and kept two-minding weather to buy a laptop or not

My sister got that new iPod Nano, and I must say it is so cute! I like watching videos on it! There's CoverFlow, the new screen/interface is new and improved so she's still getting used to it, and it's much thinner too. But it's a little bit wide because of the screen, it's worth it though because you can watch the videos better. Overall, the new iPod Nano is a must buy!
I'm not jealous though, because I'm getting the iPod Touch

Yea I have to agree. I was in the Apple store the other day and looked at the nano. I literally felt like I could snap that thing in two with not a whole lot of effort. It just seemed so dinky and easy to lose. Granted it was cute and the colors were cute as well...but it just seemed totally impractical.

I would not have an Ipod before this came out because I didnt like the sound quality & design. I got the new nano in black for my birthday with Fashion_Hottie engraved on the back, & it's 1 of the best things I own. It depends what u want in an MP3 player, but for me size is crucial - i want to fit it in my pockets & this is perfect. It's still very sturdy as I've dropped it a few times & it's done no damage. I watch videos on there & it's perfectly adaquate, the screen maybe small but it is really clear & bright - i watched Star Dust recently & enjoyed it! The sounds is a much better improvement on the old 1s, even with the movies. Easy to use, the features are great, the games are so cool. The best thing is I got a proper stereo for Christmas (not the small docking speakers), where I dock my Ipod Nano & it plays in amazing quality. No more CD burning yay (although there is a CD drive too!). The 8GB fits around 900 songs plus like 4hrs of video, plus podcasts.

The only faults I can give, is the steel back is prone to marks & scratches. The battery is'nt replaceable & can't have a spare 1 (although it's meant to charge itself when not in use). The battery life is fine, but when watching videos it will drain it quicker (watching a 1hr& 1/2 film drained just over 1/2 of it). The lock button is a little fiddley!

I really was anti Ipod before this, but now I'm truely in love with this product! I'm a big researcher on electronics too, as I always like the best
