Iceberg F/W 14.15 Milan

Don't like the new creative director's designs... I miss innovative knitwear from Paolo Gerani... :(

Great collection I thought. Not only for the vivid colors for a fall collection that were what first got my attention but also the richness of the fabrics and how it seems to be flattering despite their thickness. I was less convinced by the final part with the shiny looks.

The collection seems to be divided into 4 blocks, and the inspiration behind it was Israeli artist Yaacov Agam, WWD reported.

A definite standout for MFW in my opinion...it's like a mix of Reed Krakoff and Raf's Dior.

i also see Balenciaga by Nicolas's vibe here, GERGIN. This is one of my fav in Milan Fashion week.

See, I'm the opposite - I find Alexis Martial's work to be far less flashy and far more relevant. It's much more up my alley.

Anyway, I've been really enjoying his collections for the house. They're cool, practical and refreshing, which isn't something you can say for most designers. The last two looks were missteps IMO, but ovrrall this is quite chic. Love the boots - they remind me of a better Prada SS 13.

I understand your point that minimal and relevance is important... however Iceberg was very technically groundbreaking in knitwear where they don't just use standard cable or rib knits.

Under Gerani he has shown some innovative use of cables, intarsias, jacquards, welts, links etc. While Martial looks too graphic and a little too simple for me.

But everyone has different tastes

nicholas at balenciaga much?

i love the pleated skirts though they're amazing, it's a great collection

I believe the current designer was part of the Balenciaga team before he took over Iceberg so I'm not surprised with the similarities.
Iceberg has been on a roll these past two seasons with the new direction. It's cool, innovative, and actually appealing. I adored last season and I equally adore this collection. I just love the styling and layering and those cuts on some of the tops are really interesting. It's definitely one of the most underrated shows of the season, tbh. Plus, the color palette is nice. Those tops with those jelly like panels on the top are quite cool.

It's very Balenciaga to me, there're nice pieces but too reminiscent.

Wow! This is one of the best collections out of Milan this season! I never paid attention to this brand before but with the new direction, this is definitely one to watch. Those detailed pleats are amazing! There's something so innovative about them yet genuinely wearable. I also love the bonded jackets at the start.
