International Shipping problems

Has anyone in the US been able to purchase items from International Online Stores (the Uk, Sweden, etc) that don't ship outside Europe? Are there any websites that offer to order and ship them-similar to the ones that help international buyers purchase US products? I'm talking about sites similar to International Checkout... the only thing is I'm in the US, wanting to purchase items from a site that only ships to Europe.
Any one have any tips ??

Do you know and trust anyone in Europe to purchase it for you once you've paypalled funds to them? They could send it over. Occasionally when I've had the reverse problem (US only, no international) emailing the company to ask whether they'd make an exception sometimes works.

unfortunately i don't know anyone in Europe
i guess I could try emailing them-I'll see how that goes... thanks
