Interview Russia March 2013 : Cameron Diaz

I can see why they chose it as a cover, but it's strikingly scary.

She looks more like Jessica Chastain. The first cover is good, the other one is awful.

i'm not crazy about either but that second one is just scary.

She looks like Debbie Harry. I like the second cover concept. Very David Bowie. Looks like a Rock Scene cover of late 70s/early 80's.

I'll throw Heidi Mount into the mix here, because I just see Heidi instead of Cameron Diaz. The second cover is better than the first. At least the second one has something different about it. The first cover is a complete mess to be honest.

And a preview from Interview Russia's newsletter

Our March cover girl Cameron Diaz is capable of making the whole world laugh and still has a leg up on any starlet. Cameron is the girl next door who in jeans and an oversized t‐shirt stops by for a cup of sugar, and in the end you ind yourselves spending the entire night together watching a movie and cracking up about anything and everything. On the occasion of the release of her new ilm Gambit, scripted by the Coen Brothers, our guest editor Naomi Campbell invited the star to her home in Miami for this exclusive interview.

Also in this month's edition:

1. Agyness Deyn leaves the fashion runway to pursue a career in Hollywood.
2. Giorgio Armani responds to questions from Bryan Ferry, Nicola Formichetti, Alicia Keys, and many others.
3. Accomplished musician and philosopher Brian Eno explains to no less than the immensely talented singer and composer Laurie Anderson why lyrics are unnecessary in his music.
4. Designer Haider Ackermann and the widow of acclaimed artist Balthus, Japanese countess
Setsuko Klossowska de Rola, exchange opinions on how to become a globally minded person.
5. James Franco and Selena Gomez intend to blow up the box of ice in Spring Breakers, a film directed by Harmony Korine.
6. Master artist-provocateur Maurizio Cattelan decides to trade in the exhibition world for a new role as a book publisher.

+ Suzy Menkes and four other leading fashion critics discuss political games through the lens of fashion and revolutions at haute couture shows.

+ Columns: Laurie Rodkin on how to tame the bad boy, and then put the pieces of a broken heart back together; Anna Battista on new-good-forgotten-old ideas from designer clothing.

 at all the comparisons. I was convinced when I looked at the first shot that it was May Andersen. How odd! I find both covers creative and fun, I don't mind that it's impossible to tell it's Cameron.

She looks great-- doesn't look too much like her, but great nevertheless. Looks more like Amber Valleta. Debbie Harry wishes she ever could looked this good!

The entire composition and layout of the first cover is horrendous-- was it done by a teen intern? It's the type of layout you see all the time for desktop fashion magazines.

haha. i love everyone's thinking that she was anyone but actually Cameron Diaz herself. lol.

my first thought when i saw the cover was "Nadja Aurmann?" lol.

i love this side of Cameron, though. she so often gets pegged as the sunny blonde california girl, we often forget that she's actually quite capable of some exciting transformations. i really look forward to the next 10 years of her film career; i think if she chooses challenging, creative projects - she could really enter that rarefied realm of "iconic" stars. she's already a huge moviestar, now she should fight for the art of it.
