Interview September 2015 : The #Me Issue

Some of these pictures are so stupid and annoying (specially the "instagang" crap), but GOD HELP ME, ZAYN LOOKS SO HOT :ninja:

Never one to knowingly turn down an opportunity, or not work an picture for all it's worth, Jennifer Lopez has got product placement and the lifestyle angle going on.

as much as i hate this selfie-obsessed celebrity-driven culture, i really like the galleries here. it's quite nicely curated portfolio of now

Hanne and Lexi have also posted pictures from the issue

JLo as always kills it... I actually wonder why she hasn't had more covers recently. She's beyond photogenic . Hers almost looks good enough to be a Miesel for Vogue Italia cover.

I thought Fabien was above sh*t like this...great; looks like 0 September issues in the bag for me this year!

I wish they would stop these themed issues for September; the last two worked well, but quite honestly they need to go back to issues like the Kate Moss/Emma Stone traditional Sept books.

Yeah-- 0 Sept issues this year LOL Yay!

I really did think Fabien is way above this crap. But after Beiber, and now Zayn-- who looks as dimwittedly dime-a-dozen as the new crop of Eastern European gay-for-pay p*rn hopefuls, I guess even the discerning have to give into the empty void of teendom to make a buck.

(And I love how utterly ridiculous JLo is all glammed up and retouched for business-- even for a selfie. The woman is so shamelessly corporate and always on as a product I have to give it up to her even if I find everything she does bland as cardboard just for never stop hustling.)

:ermm: what a boring concept, the novelty effect of the selfie has totally worn out, Interview must of run out of ideas. the people they've chosen so far are either irrelevant or so monotonous they really don't need any more exposure. really do you want to be in the #InterviewGang ...

All this reminds me of that Vogue Italia issue by Meisel.
Wish Zayn cover was in black and white.

I resent how "serious" most of them are; Jennifer looks too "made up", its too perfect, Miley needs to cover up because we have all seen her nipples at this point. Mert is super annyoing, i had to unfollow him and his duck face! The rest, yeah...took the task way serious!

Its Ironic that i find Victoria's the most "fun", same for Selena, both women usually all about vamp perfection, glad they didnt go that route here.

There better be great content.

I love Jennifer's because its exactly her style. Of course she is going to glam it up and airbrush her picture . Zayn's is just  I prefer those 2 covers

Well I said I liked the idea but having seen it play out on all the covers, it hasn't worked for me (except for maybe Zayn's which I think is probably the best.) It's an interesting concept, but like others have said it's been done before and it turns out that it's been done better. Remember the MeiselPic Vogue Italia issue from SIX years ago, that was exciting and fun and fresh, but from 2009 to 2015 it's now redundant and if you are going to do it then bring something exciting to the table, push it more...that's what I was hoping for and expected from Interview.

It could have been voyeuristic or dangerous or provocative in some way but it's not. Other than VB and J.Lo I think the people they chose for the cover are tragic and contrived: I'm especially sick of Mert Alas...

I really wanted to the like this because Interview is usually wonderful, however I'm disappointed with the result. Nice idea, boring cast and redundant execution.

LOL, God. 'EE gay-for-pay p*rn hopeful', you've excelled yourself here! I thought 2009 was the worst year in this magazine's cover history, but this year is a strong contender. I can bear the Jennifer Lopez cover at a stretch, didnt even know she was that active on social media. The rest are always making headlines with their shenanigans in such an attention-wh*re type of fashion, so I guess they all belong together. A selection of people from different fields wouldve been nicer. One model perhaps, but it probably wouldve been someone from the Kendall/Cara cusp.

Madonna's cover is the best.
She just gets it all so brilliantly, and effortlessly.
Hers will be the one to get, and she's also the only true star and icon, in that group.

JLo's cover looks the best followed by Zayn. Why does Miley have to flash her breasts everywhere? Is this her contribution to #FreeTheNipple?

That said, Meisel and his girls did this 6 years ago with MeiselPc/TwitPic. Although I did enjoy looking through the pics.

Damn, Zayn looks hot af.

But yeah this whole thing is super lame.

I like that Jennifer is glammed up but still looks regular. Zayn's is hot and Victoria's is fun and cheeky with husband and son in the background.

I'll be picking up those 3 if I can find them.

and now Zayn-- who looks as dimwittedly dime-a-dozen as the new crop of Eastern European gay-for-pay p*rn hopefuls
.. brilliant. Lol.

All of these pictures are depressing me for a reason unrelated to how they actually look. You can tell all of them went all the way to deliver the assignment while still trying to capture somehow what their careers have been about, which isn't really different from how the selfies of everyone work (good looks+ a certain image usually related to lifestyle or profession or both), and all the way is often like around the corner (except Madonna?) and documented here in all its splendor through a thigh or a reminder of their sex tape or desire to break out of the child star box.

Anyway, Zayn's cover is probably my favorite, this is in general a late thing to do (didn't Vogue Italia go there years ago?) but I think his cover captures how vacant, meaningless and surreal most selfies turn out...
