    Too bad I deleted all of my picture from a project I just did doing just this... Taking old designers and finding designs from today that are inspired from the past. :( Poop.

    Evening dress. Norman Hartnell, 1951.
    Helen Band wore this dress to the State Dinner held in Toronto in honour of Princess Elizabeth. The 1951 Royal Visit included a civic reception, a private luncheon, and the State Dinner for 900 guests held at Queen's Park, hosted by the Lieutenant Governor and his wife, Mrs. Ray Lawson.

    This dress was worn by Dorothy Boylen for her appearance on the 1953 Toronto Telegram’s Best-Dressed List. This same design was also worn by Marlene Dietrich and Wallis Simpson, both of whom were on the international Best-Dressed List.
