i dont believe anything they say about rep, lol^
they say rep fall apart in 3 months. i've used mine for 1 year and still GREAT!!!!

LOL! I recall years ago a girl posting a BJ (IIRC?) birk rep as real (she said she recd as a gift, i think?) and they let really her have it. I remember someone going on & on about how the copies literally reek, smelled bad & should've be the first clue that the bag was fake. (It was sort of funny at the time but I was quite high on the TeePeeEff cult fumes. I'm almost sane now. really i am.) Now it just seems sort of sad & excessive. (that both the girl and the forum members had to go there)

that said, one of the good things about some H items is the scent (if you're kinky & pervy like that about leather ..LOL) & I do wonder if the copies smell normal or if they really do smell weird.

Personally, although that other site is a plethora of info, I think some of them go too far. I've seen people get talked about so bad over there, it's a shame. I also take issue with some of them giving their 'professional' opinions about whether a bag is real or not. The truth is that some of them HAVE NO IDEA and people are basing their purchases off of that knowledge. Understand, there are some fashion mavens over there who were purchasing bags when I was but a thought in the ether. But who cares if your bag is real if you behave like a ----- to real people.

(On top of the fact that people have posted reps over there and had them gushing all over them and their purchase. I find that to be HILARIOUS. )

I also agree with people who say that the juxtaposition of a more casual chic/ off the cuff style can add to the Birk. I've got dreams of a really good pair of jeans, a great top, some accessories and sweet shoes carrying off my Birk. And don't get me started on my summer time staple of sun-dresses. :D I can hardly wait! I don't do a whole lot of suits and business attire, so I'm definitely going to be wearing the Birk with a more casual flavor. ... but super kudos to those who can pull off a Kelly. I'm good, but I'm not THAT good!

Reviews of J's Chanel Items

I organised a joint purchase recently and we ordered a batch of Chanel, LV and AWang items from Jacky.

All my items are Chanel and I will do reviews of the bags (with accompanying photographs) in the next few posts.

If you have any questions about the items I've bought from J, I'll be happy to help. B)

@bolded....omg LOL!:D I'd pay to see those gotcha threads... yes, i'm evil but the corn-cobness just gets to me at times.

some of the ladies are great and give excellent advice but the overall tea party & selective Chief Inspector Clouseau thing just drives me bats.

If someone is buying and needs help then it's perfect,.by all means, bring on the microscopes & Geiger counters!..lol

...but when every blow-dried, botoxed-beyond 'socialite' or celeb gets the Automatic Auth stamp. something is seriously stinky.:innocent:

****
IMO, if you like a softer Birkin, then you can prolly carry a 35 or 40 Kelly retourne too.

i used to have a rep birkin from desiremall (has all the correct details but no H markings) in togo and the smell was really nice. however, i've never smelled a real birkin so i dont know if they smell the same. good or bad depends on personal reference, TBH. but heck, if i have to pay 10k for a bag, it smells like heaven regardless!!!

Review of J's Chanel Medium Quilted Hobo #2915 Black

I took the plunge in buying J's Chanel Medium Quilted Hobo after seeing pixellated's fabulous photos of her BQ bags. I believe mine's the Bubble Quilt Bowler bag, according to photos and posts I've seen and read in TPF.

When I saw the bag, it was stuffed to the gills with loads of paper stuffing. It looked SO FAT (width wise) that I almost had a heart attack. However, after removing the paper stuffing, the bag looked much better.

The lambskin is VERY soft and pillowy. I love it! I know this sounds odd, but the smell of the lambskin is actually rather pleasant. The bag is VERY roomy. The lambskin feels great to the touch and I love hugging the bag.

The exterior looks great, but the interior lining has way too much excessive cloth. Although it comes with a pocket holder to hold my mobile phone, I can't use it as mobile phone pocket is almost sitting on the bottom of the bag!

The lambskin tends to scratch easily, so please be careful when you're wearing diamond rings or chunky rings with sharp edges.

I would NOT recommend this bag for ladies who wish to shoulder-carry the bag. The handles are rather short (handle drop measures only 6") and the bag fits snugly under my arms. If I were to wear a jacket or coat, the bag can only be slung on the crook of my elbow or hand carried, so please take note! The bag is also a little on the heavy side, mostly due to the interlocking chains of the handles.

The bag shown in J's site is an authentic Chanel bag. Please note that the hardware of J's rep bag has a slight discrepancy in its colour. On my bag, the interlocking 'Cs' are shiny gold while the interlocking chains of the handles have a matte finish.

The bag does not look as fat when carried on the shoulders. But please note that the top of the bag tends to get squished when carried under the arms. When storing the bag, I would recommend stuffing it like a turkey (I stuff mine with old clothes), so that the bag does not lose its shape. The bubble quilt is soft and tends to get distorted if the bag is not stuffed and stored properly.

Overall, I love the bag and would recommend this to all BQ lovers.

xooey: I love it! You can tell how soft and smooshy it is just from looking. I'm not familiar with bubble quilts, so I don't know about details, but I really like the overall look of the bag, especially the kinda squarish-shape.
IMHO, I think it would probably look best carried by hand or in the crook of the elbow anyways, so bonus for you! :flower:

Review of J's Chanel 2.55 Evening bag #2886 Black Caviar w/silver

After a long, agonising wait for my replacement Jumbo Caviar (I don't know if anyone remembers this, but J had sent me a defective one with tears on the leather handles, so I had to do an exchange), I finally have a perfect Jumbo Caviar with Silver HW!

I have used this bag once for work and it is PERFECT. It is roomy enough to be used as a daily, on-the-go bag and so, so sturdy! I don't have to worry about scratches on the leather, since the caviar leather is so durable and tough. I LOVE this bag!

This bag is truly a maintenance-free, fuss-free bag. When I store the bag, I don't need to stuff it as it's already a structured bag. I just store it in the dustbag and place it upright.

I've read in other forums that some ladies (who buy the auth) get a clip (?) from the Chanel boutique to shorten the straps. I feel that it's not necessary. The length is just fine when I carry the bag on the shoulders. I believe I've posted mod shots of this bag in this thread, so please do a search if you want to see how the bag looks like, modelled.

I know that previously, some of you had asked about the quilting on the sides of the bag. I've taken a couple of photos to show the quilting on both sides of the bag. Hope they show the sides clearly!

Review of J's Chanel Quilted Flap bag #1112 Black Lambskin

Of all the 3 Chanel bags I bought from J, this has to be my favourite. I love how classy and cute it looks at the same time.

I love the burgundy flap on the interior, but my only grouse is, I cannot snap
shut the button of the burgundy flap! When the bag arrived, it was snapped shut. I had to open it to remove the stuffing and ever since then, I have not been able to snap it back in place.

My pics are pretty true to how the bag looks in real life, especially the photos that show the bag sitting prettily by the window. The quilts aren't as puffy as the bag shown in J's site. The lambskin is also not as 'shiny' as the bag shown in J's site.

I remember that some of you have the authentic bag, so I would like to check if the auth bag has much 'puffier' quilts and lambskin that looks as if it has a glaze/sheen on it?

xooey: Beautiful Chanels! Am glad that you have finally received your replacement for the jumbo :) Do you happen to have a mod pic of you carrying the bowler bag over the shoulder? I would love to see how short the handle drop is. If it is too uncomfortable to carry it over the shoulder, then the bowler bag is not for me :(

It's an exclusive club. I think Kimmy just isn't of the right pedigree! Isn't she from a.... :o broken home? :o I guess you could call them hypocrites, maybe. I just call them douchebags!

BBY: you can carry an Hermes, just please don't let me see you in Life&Style magazine with your lapdog peeking out the top.

xooey: that flap looks just like the one I purchased for my mum. It's gorgeous! So glad you were happy with your haul from Jacky.

RE: Credits Refund from J

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I just want to share my experience in getting credits refund from J. In summary, J had sent me a defective Jumbo Caviar with Silver HW. I sent an email with photos of the defective bag to him and was given the option of getting a refund or doing an exchange. I loved the bag so much, I opted to do an exchange.

The bag's heavy and I spent US$30 mailing the defective bag to him. When J got the bag, he asked me what was wrong with the bag, even though I had already emailed him the defects (with accompanying photos) previously, AND also enclosed a memo detailing the defects when I mailed the bag back to him. I had to resend him photos of the defects. So, if you should ever receive a defective bag from J, please take clear photos of the defects and KEEP the photos for future reference!

J mailed the replacement bag to me separately (it was NOT mailed together with the other bags I'd ordered in the recent joint purchase) and has given me a US$15 credits refund for my next purchase.

I only want to get another bag (a #1112 as a gift for my friend) and asked J if he would be cool if I paid full price for the #1112 with Paypal (I would also pay the extra 7% charge), forego my US$15 credits refund, and in return, he would waive the US$30 shipping charge since I'm only getting one item. His answer was, I would still have to pay extra US$25 for shipping. NO way I'm going to pay this much for shipping just for one bag!

So, in order to get my US$15 credits refund back from J, I will be organising another joint purchase for ladies from Singapore. I will pay with WU, and NOT Paypal. Those who're keen in getting items from Jacky, please PM me.

xooey: Love your bags girl!! :) I'm glad you are happy with your batch + your replacement! The bubble quilt looks soooo soft I just want to pet it :)

shopaholic48: I have a Damier Azur bag from Jacky. I believe the colors are spot on....cream and blue.....I posted a pic! I personally find Azur plain with pale vachetta so I always start applying oil as soon as I get a bag to give it a nice dark patina. It looks more auth that way too! Such a beautiful contrast! You could try Jacky's first....think how much $$$ you'll save if it's a good rep!! :D

dede8: I'm happy you're posting more!! :flower: Since shipping is included in the price of EACH NBF bag, they should ship the bags that are ready and not wait to ship them all together. I would ask them again. :)

BlairWarner: Welcome!! :flower:

PinkPrincess: My ame looks totally different colors indoors vs. in bright sunlight.. I LOVE the color. I wish it always looked the way it does outdoors though...

originalzzb: Welcome!! :flower:

Coley: Babe, with your confidence you could make a paper bag look like a chic handbag! I can totally picture you rocking you Hermes all over the ATL! Get one!! :woot:

SMKelley: Thanks for all the Birkin info! I'll check out Joy's! The stitching and handle shape are a huge deal to me so if her's are spot on in those areas, I may get one! I'm glad you got your bag back before your boss started carrying it around!! The Azur looks really good!

I think the 40cm Birkin will work for taller girls....the 35 looks WAY too small on me. It's a tiny little purse. I need a 40. I realize it's big, but Carolyn Bessette Kennedy (who was 5'9" or so) carried a 40 or 45 and I think it looked great on her. If Victoria Beckham can carry a 35 and it doesn't look huge on her, a 40 won't wear me. :) I think the 35 is a great size for most people and a great size for day or night.

xooey: the chanel bags are really beautiful.

i feel tempted to get a quilted flap even though i'm not a fan of quilted bags. maybe in a few more months ... i might
