Update: used an old t shirt to buff off the Egyptian Magic from my NBF Raisin First - she looks so much better! I was going to name her Betty, because she was so thirsty (like Betty Ford). But now she will be named Betty after my Golden Girl, Betty White - she may be wrinkled, but she glows & is very much loved :-)

NBF bags are amazing - I have an auth GSH hobo, and am very impressed with the quality of leather & construction. I prefer RH, as it was the combo of feminine/whimsical tassels, combined with the motorcycle details that initially attracted me to Bal bags.

The First is deceiving - its my fave Bal size. It is quite wide (13 inches?), and can accomodate a harcover book, & most American magazine.

But.

Its relatively flat, so can't carry groceries, or an umbrella (ella).

The other size Bals have much more depth, making the First seem narrower in comparison.

Pixellated: THANKS for those great mod shots of the Sunday tote. I (of course) love love love it when my requests get fulfilled! Woot!
I did do a quick "google image" search and it seems like the Sunday is available in black or anthracite--I was hoping maybe Bal would do it in Galet. Imagine that!
I am already getting the Galet RH day, but now that beavercall has certified that the swatch is totally gorgeous I'm thinking about other styles.

Boo! that moutard got the axe. I was hoping for a sexy yellow Town.

seahorseinstripes, NBF bags are really mostly good. Whatever flaws there used to be, have largely been corrected, so no worries about them now. We have many members who buy the auth Bals AND also buy from T&D ... so that should give you a clue to the quality of their bags. Buy and carry NBF bags with confidence. In my opinion, their RH bags are flawless. Happy shopping.

After reading Beavercall's post about her dinner with the boys and how fab Galet is, I am considering getting something in Galet (either City OR Part-Time OR Day ... all in Regular HW).

The thing is, I've seen some Galet bags in TPF look BROWN, while others look GREY.

Would you ladies consider Galet to be in the Brown family or Grey family?

thanks for all the encouragement i had and have many authentic balenciaga in various colours but always have the same problem about losing my heart when seeing the handle turn dark like really dark and i always have balenciaga in colours so that always be a problem to me, darken LV patina is still beautiful in my eyes but darken balenciaga handles in bright leather colours are always a turn off.
what nice colour u girls recommend for the nicest batch now from T&D? the VD looks amazing but i'm not really into it, the sorbet also not doing it for me, no pink can match the beauty of 05 magenta imo

seahorseinstripe: They have some Sang bags left. Twiggies, Days & Velos. I believe the Sang leather is quite nice (I pick mine up tomorrow) so check out the pictures only thread for details on the actual bags. They only release a few colours at a time. You can't just order up a Rubisse or Charbon. We're really all just at their mercy (but in a good way I guess).

Trying to answer some questions quickly:

Galet is more gray but with a tinge of beige.

Also, T&D showed me the iPad clutch in Anthracite. OMG AMAZING. It's lined with microfiber so it protects the iPad shell and screen really well. There's also a layer of memory foam in between the lining and outer leather. It's very structured. It's like a little portfolio case. I'm gonna get 2 or 3 of those.

I dunno if the chinese customs agents take out the goods from the packaging to spray their pesticides, but it's possible. They open packages all the time for inspection. All I know is, my bags delivered within China don't smell, while the bags delivered to US did. Oh and T&D gave me one of my vert deau bags in person and it didn't smell.

I went to the Bal store in HK today and I was NOT impressed. The black, blue roi, and hunter green? bags had very thick leather, but it was really dry. It almost felt like cow leather. Virtually no distressing and had no character. The only awesome leather I saw was one of the browns - not sure which one - but it was buttery and slouchy.

LOVE the new Maxi Twiggy. I hope T&D do that one in the future!!

They also had a brand new style I never saw before, literally came in the doors this morning - the clerk didn't even know what the style was called yet. The shape is similar to the Midday but it had three separated interior compartments, and you could see the accordion-like separation on the bottom - like one of those expandable file folders. Loved it, ME WANT!!! I almost bought it but reason took over. The black leather wasn't that great. I spent my money at Louis Vuitton instead

I've had gorgeous authentic Bals but even MORE NBFs because their leathers are insanely gorgeous. Even moreso than the authentics.

I dare say that even if I were a millionaire, I would still buy NBF because of the leathers.

Hi all,

So, thanks to my tFS angel, I now have a GORGY outremer weekender.

Now, I'm by no means petite. I'm plus-size. I'm big mama baggins with a shelf 'o junk in the back. So if this bag makes ME feel petite, OMG, I can't imagine how it makes my thinner sisters feel!

But I love it. Today's the first day I've carried her. She holds all my essentials, plus a "New Beauty" magazine, a pellegrino and a bag of crunchy Cheetos. Not the snack size.

Congrats on the Outremer Weekender! We're bag twins now!!!! I LOVE mine and yes, it does tend to dwarf (there are pics of me cheesing with mine in the pic thread) the body, regardless of size. But the leather is TDF. I think, hands down, it's one of the best batches from T&D.

Does anyone know if T&D are making the town?

From what I've read, T&D don't have an auth Town to replicate. Without one, they can't create a pattern. So we'll have to wait until they obtain one somehow. I also think the town is adorable and would love to have one in Black!

Oh how I love T&D! Here's a pic of my new vert d'eau GGH City with perfect handles and gorgeous leather!!! I took pics to compare the new GGH with the GGH from my black bag from the last batch. As you can see, it's NOT a huge difference b/c it's not like the GGH was horrible before... There is a difference though! The new GGH has more depth to it, is slightly smoother and is a differtent tone of gold. I'll still carry my old GGH bag (only have one) but definitely am happy with the new GGH! I'm absolutely in awe of the the handles. They're identical to what I saw on most of the bags at Bal LA. Some auths have the more curved handles...but most had a smooth transition between the handle itself and the laces (see pic). I also took a pic of my mirror from my vert d'eau Work from the last batch (Spring '09) and the new one (the mirrors are stacked on each other and my bag is in the backround..sorry if that's confusing)! . They're nearly indistinguishable! They really nailed the color! And OMG the leather!!! I didn't think ANYTHING could come close to my Work from the last batch (which is goatskin) but as ame_sparkle said, "If the last batch was from the most amazing goat, then this batch is from the most amazing lamb!" This is THE BEST leather of any of their lambskin bags (out of the ones I've felt...which are numerous). It's silky, smooth, soft, distressed... I'm truly shocked that it turned out this well! I didn't know it was possible! I don't want to enable anyone, but if you're on the fence about this color, just GO FOR IT! I think every collection could use a VD!
