Is This Normal?

ok, so my cousin got this Vuitton Damier Sarria Mini (from the boutique) around half a year ago.
she just told me that on one of handles (on the top part of the handle where the hand is holding), the smooth surface layer started to peel off and gave her a sticky, uncomfortable feeling when she's holding the bag.
she said that she hasn't been wearing the bag that often at first, but she did wear it almost everyday for the past month.
now she's asking me if this whole peeling off thing on a Damier handle is normal but I have no idea since I've never had such problem
does anyone have similiar problem or know if this is normal?

I haven't seen that kind of damage to any Vuitton bags as far as I remember.
I'd advise your cousin to visit the LV boutique and ask them what to do .

I also think it's kinda weird. it's not like that she's had the bag for a very long time

Definately take it back (Lifetime warranty) they need to replace the straps or replace it with a new bag. Good luck

I told her that she'd better take it to the boutique.
(just thought it's weird that Vuitton bags actually have this kind of problem )

Soundslike something was wrong with the leather that was used for the handle.. maybe it wasn't processed correctly. Maybe she had something on her hands? Nah.. that wouldnt' cuase it to peel...

Take it back.

I think the damier canvas is growing on me... or at least I'd have to see it in person to tell if I like it or not. I'd love to have a papillion.

to me it sounds like it could be a problem to do with humidity. however, that bag is too new to be damaged already. as everybody else said, she should take it back to the boutique. i am sure they'll be glad to do something about it

I absolutely love my Damier Papillon, the lovely Papillon just looks gorgeous in Damier.
I think I really should wear it more often

exactly.
if it had been 5 years, I don't think she would say anything.
but it's only been half a year....
I now start to worry about all my Vuitton bags...

I am able to wear the straps over the shoulder (tightly).
but I don't wear it like that since the shape of the bag changes and looks funny under my arm

hmmm, i have an issue with my mum's LV...it's a locu, jus a plain one, she got given a luco bag at least less than a year ago...but it was bought in malaysia from my uncle and the stiching on one of the straps has come undone a bit, but it's still totally usable atm, but in time, i'm sure the strap will easily fall off...

the thing is, i've been using her bag for a while, so i'm really nervous she'll go ape...

i'm askin belowen now...hehe
