I think the choice of selita as an angel was bit off... I think brazilians are diverse but most of them have a multicultural heritage. A bit carribean, a bit european etc...I like to see atleast an asian model on the runway.

Brasilian is the "in thing" now, so they will stick with it for about 3-4 more years.
I like to see more Europeans though.
It seems now, that if you even mention you are Brasilian, VS will not only pick you up but make you an angel [Izabel].
Kind of discriminatory toward the Europeans but I think in 3-4 years when Gisele, Adriana, and Alessandra are considered "too old" to model, VS will bring out the European Sex Kittens.
[After all, like 75% brasilians have European heritage or parents, so technically they look like Europeans, but are Brasilians by birth and sun bathing]

Maybe if the right model comes along they will go with her heritage (this seems to be the way they come up with a trend.) But hey they seem great at picking the right models, so I'm sure they will keep picking good models in the future for VS. I don't think where they're from really matters. Karolina, Julia S., Doutzen, all not brazilians =).

But it seems like VS picks up models just for being born in Brasil and make some Angels just for being Brasilian.
Like in 2006 VSFS there were like 13 out of 22 models were Brasilian
In 2007 VSFS there were only around 5 out of 23 models were Brasilian, so maybe VS is phasing out.
My reason for this thinking is that Izabel is an angel and the only reason I can thing of why she was made an angel is because she is Brasilian.

Eh, Izabel is kinda charismatic... her interview on Conan's show was pretty charming, not boring/robotic/android-ish like some of the interviews on FTV (though admittedly, a lot of the girls are tired backstage and Conan's a lot more interesting to talk to than say... Jeanne Baker )

But we need some Asian representation in VS. I don't remember the last time I saw an Asian in their show and they've never had one for their campaign.

I don't think VS is too Brazilian. The girls look diverse, it doesn't matter where they're from if you can't tell by looking at them. If they are were ex: blonde hair, blue eyes, etc. that would get boring and that would be a problem if you can see they all look alike.
