^oh, those are SO nice, thanks for the support^_^

Isabelle Huppert... she is breathtaking and such a diverse actress:heart:
It's the way she convert emotions through bodily expressions that makes her, for me, very special....
I don't think there is any other actress of her status who will take on such challenging roles that she does....

I saw her first in Les Valseuses(Bertrand Blier 1974) and La Cérémonie(Claude Chabrol 1995) and later in La Pianiste (Michael Haneke 2001), 8 Femmes(François Ozon 2002) and Ma Mere(Christophe Honoré 2004).
Each film she brings something quite unique, even if you like the films or not....

Thank you for the thread and these beautiful photos:heart:...

Isabelle Hupert is such a great artist. I just saw L´ivresse du pouvoir, and she played a great role. She´s the kind of actresses who won´t show if her character is good or bad, wicked or sweet until the film ends. She always peels another layer of her characters, when you think you like her, there comes a stare, or a gaze that keeps you wondering.
Sometimes she´s spookier when she just smiles...
She can be beautiful or plain, she is really a gifted artist.

In this Saturday's Independent UK newspaper is a free DVD of Huppert's "Madame Bovary." So get your hands on it real quick!:flower:

Oh why do I only discover this thread now. Isabelle is one of my favourite actresses, in fact I think she's one of the greatest actresses of our time. I particularly like her in the work of Michael Haneke (Le temps du loup and La pianiste) and of course Francois Ozon, my favourite director (8 femmes). Even the more commercial movies she has done, like Les soeurs fachees, are brilliant due to her. I only didn't like I heart Huckabees, but that was just a strange movie.

I'm especially looking forward to her new movie America, also with Helen Mirren en Jennifer Jason Leigh.

i'm soo glad there is a thread about her- her style is a little hit and miss but great actress

i never realised she did a ysl campaign- i guess it makes sense since her costar in gabrielle co-star pascal greggory was also in one. she's one of those ever so french actresses that come onto their own only in later years ( basically the opposite of deneuve and bardot...)

I actually didn't know that Nicolas Ghesquière dressed her for "L'ivresse du pouvoir". I like how the clothes fit her character though the movie is, here and there, well...

screencaps by me

I also remember reading an interview with her where she talked about how important the accouterment is when she tries to form a new role. The first thing she does is to figure out what shoes her character would wear. Like in the Piano teacher, where Erika wears in the begining flat shoes who get slightly more high-heeled when this "romance" with her student begins. That's an interessting approach, I think.
