Great news, ASF! I'm glad to see Meisel didn't let her go.

Iselin also has the cover, an article/interview and at least two editorials in the new march issue of Norwegian ELLE. She looks amazing .. :) It's almost like the entire issue is dedicated to her. :D

(Now I have to find a way to buy it without getting strange looks for buying a girly mag .. :P )

I'm going "downtown" in a couple of hours and then I will buy this issue, but I think I will have to buy a car magazine at the same time. :D

If anyone is interested I can scan it when i get home from the city. :flower:

Oh, I forgot something ..

She also has a beauty "editorial" in the same issue. It's 4 pages of just her face and is called "Spring's most beautiful" .. :)

Oh lord, I'm going to be scanning all weekend. I'm starting by translating the interview. Any requests for scans?

take the most unflattering pics at first and continue with the better ones... good for the curiosity ^_^ thank you for scanning

I apologize in advance for any grammar mistakes. The language is also not as good as in the original article, because my vocabulary is not that large, since it's been 7 years since I had English in school. I still hope you can enjoy the interview. :flower:

THE SUPERMODEL (Norwegian ELLE March issue)

by Kine B. Hartz

She is one of the biggest supermodels in the world and our covergirl in this issue of ELLE. Meet Iselin Steiro from Harstad.

Hardworking assistants are setting up the light when Iselin strolls into the studio wearing narrow jeans, old "Converse" and a knitted cardigan. The clock has just passed ten on a sunday morning. Her hair is wet, and she is wearing no make-up. Her long and ? body falls down into a chair in front of the mirror. She stretches, yawns, says "yes, please" to a cup of tea and lights up when we ask what she was doing last night. "- I was presenting an award at "Osloprisen" (an award show by a free newspaper in Oslo), she says with a clear North-Norwegian accent og closes her eyes, so that the makeup-artist can put on foundation. "- Was it fun?" Iselin Steiro (21) smiles. "Yes, very much fun! I presented the award for best night club." "- What did you say when you where on stage?" "- I said that I maybe was not too qualified for the task, since the night club I've been to the most is Tors Hammer. Everyone laughed. But it's actually true! Jeg usually go there with the summer camp that I work for every year"."- What kind of camp is that?" "It's a camp for children with rare diagnoses. It is very rewarding to be able to help. You really see how lucky you are. A pimple on the nose is not much compared to the faiths you see there, the model says, who appears in three fashion editorials and the cover in this issue. Since Iselin started modelling full time three years ago, she has conquered the fashion business completely. Fashion campaigns for Gucci, Chanel, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Adidas. Fashion spreads in ELLE, W, V, Vogue, Numéro, ID and Pop with the worlds best photographers. Commuting between New York, Paris, Milan and London. Invitations to the worlds most glamourous parties. The Supermodel tvitches her nose. "- Celebrity parties are really very boring. It's so "forced". Everyone is just saying "Oh, you're so fabulous!", before they move on to the next person, says Iselin, who herself has held a "low profile" and rarely gives interviews. According to the fashion website models.com she is today rated as the worlds fifth most sought after supermodel, and if you google her you will get 36.900 hits, several fansites among them. As a 14 year old she was scouted, not once, but twice on the street by model scouts in London, where she was christmas shopping with her mother. "- The first time mom just said "over my dead body!". The day after we where inside Top Shop when a guy came over to us and asked if he could take a polaroid. He asked what my name and adress was. A week later a letter from Team (her Norwegian mother agency) was in the mailbox", says the model, who had zero interest for fashion at the time. "- Oh, my god, I didn't even dress myself", she tells and laughs out loud. After her father went with her to Sognefjorden for a shoot for a Japanese catalog, and understood that modelling seemed OK, Iselin started working. "- But I finished high school before I started working full time. Then I thought that I should take this chance that not very many people get. I also very much wanted to go to New York. First I planned to stay a year, but because it went so well, it became two", says the girl who swiftly got what others will describe as a "fairytale career". "- I am enormously competitive, and that was probably one of the reasons why i continued as a model. I wanted to become the best". All finished with make-up and hair put up she gets a flowery Gucci dress put over her head, puts on a pair of high heeled shoes and walks into the studio. She corrects her posture. "- She's so beautiful", an assistant whispers. "- Do you enjoy yourself in front of the camera?" "- Yes, especially when I do editorials that have a story, so I get to tell a story. I always performed as little, made movies with friends. But the most important is good chemistry with the photographer." "- Who do you prefer to work with?" "- Mario Sorrenti get's me to relax, and the people around him are so cool, like a group of friends. The photos always look good." "- Others in the business that impress you?" "- Karl Lagerfeld. He is extremely smart", she says and changes to an off-white dress by See by Chloé. Wind in the hair. Click, click. The big eyes are looking ? into the camera. Few girls have tried on as many fantastic dresses as Iselin Steiro. She thought it was very fun (in lack of a better word) to go along as Frida Giannini's "date" to the annual Museum of Contemporary Art ball in New York last year. She wore a black, long Gucci dress with an open back. "- Marilyn Manson came over to me and said "I love you dress, especially on you"", she says and giggles. She says that it usually is nothing special to meet celebritites. She feels like a tourist in the fashion business. "- It's an unreal world. When I look at photos of Naomi Campbell in magazines, I feel that that has nothing to do with me. I don't feel like a supermodel", she says and sits back down in the make up chair. New lipgloss, hairspray. Then she has to wait. And that she does leaning backwards in an orange couch wearing a bathrobe. She peals a nectarine. " - In the beginning I couldn't believe it took 3 hours to take a photo. But now I understand that 90% of this job is waiting." Iselin tells that she loves to dance (preferably Justin Timberlake, 90's dance or hip hop) and read (right now it's The New York Trilogy by Paul Aster). Of all the dresses she's worn a powder coloured haute coutoure dress by Givenchy really tops it. "- It had layers on layers with chiffon and stood out like a flower." There's no doubt about the fact that Iselin is a model in the "million class", but she never talks about how much money she makes. " -I'm not going to deny that every girl likes to feel like a million bucks sometimes, drink champagne and eat russian caviar, hehe, but I don't spend a lot of money and will never become a bling-bling girl sitting on a yacht in St- Tropez. "- Then what kind of luxury do you appreciate?" "- Nail treatments .. And it's nice to travel on business class. But otherwise I like activities as walking in nature." The North-Norwegian beauty that reaches 178 cm does not have a boyfriend for the time being, and said "of course no" when Lenny Kravitz asked her out. The stylist doesn't believe what she is hearing, but Iselin just laughs. " - Oh, my god, do you know how old he is?" "- I think Scandinavian boys are nice. Earlier I had a big crush on Aksel Hennie and Leonardo DiCaprio. André 3000 from Outkast is not that bad, either!" There was panic backstage when she decided to started to work less. Since it went so well everybody assumed sh would continue a few more years. "- I will probably do a job now and then, even thoug I will have a normal life with studies from fall. I've worked a lot and am tired. As a model you never get enough sleep, travel through time zones constantly, are alone alot and rarely get to see family and friends. You have to smile and be nice to everyone, no matter how you feel. In the end I felt that I was just walking around looking good, but not doing anything. I respect everybody that has this for a dream, but I'm ready for something more. But I still work a lot. You can say it's a gradually fade from modelling to studies", she says, and says that the most traumatic thing she has ever done as a model, was to bleach her hair platinum blond. "- Half of it fell out! But it was for the cover of Italian Vogue, which is the biggest one, so even though I wish I could say something else, it was worth it. " - Are there any jobs that you haven't done that you really want?" " - Yes! I very much want to do the Pirelli calender." - "Why?" "- I often hear that I'm so boyish. I would be cool to do some photos where I had to be really sexy", she says and crosses her long legs. In addition to her three good friends in New York, she's not in doubt about what she will miss the most about modelling. "- Being where it happens."

Iselin' success

Why has Iselin done so extraordinary well? We asked some of the people who work with her.

" - She had the right look at the right time. Her first job was Prada's catwalk show, so she's been on the rise from day one. She looks fantastic and has a lot of character when she poses. She's sort of a bit of everything and doesn't look too old or too young. She's beautiful, but not in a commercial way like Gisele. She's edgy, but not too edgy. And she's always been the same down-to-earth girl. Everybody in the business loves working with Iselin", says Dario Callegher, who books work for Iselin through Women in Milan.
"- Iselin is intelligent and openminded. She knows how she can contribute to create inspiring photos. You can fly her from New York to LA, to Paris and she'll still walk of the plane looking fresh. Women want to buy clothes from women who look strong and intelligent. Iselin does that. She's also always very nice to be around. We understand that she want's to go to school, but we will miss her. She's a New York-girl!", says Chris Gay, the boss of Women Management in New York.
"- Iselin has a classical look, and a face it's very easy to put make up on.. She's really hard working, knows what the photographers want, she's precise and very intelligent. She understands what this is about", says Eivor Øvrebø, the boss of Team Models Norge.

I suggest u to make the long articles into few paragraphs. I am pleased how earthy and real Iselin is

Nice to hear that you appreciated it, pealike. :) I should have made a few more paragraphs, but it's too late now. :)

I'm installing the scanning software on my computer now, so I'll be at it in a few moments.
