Issey Miyake S/S 2026 Paris

love the lines, made from a master even the "i dont care" shoulders are interesting

I like Satoshi Kondo but this is a miss from him, sadly. Everything is so all over the place except the last 5 looks when he references the S/S 1998 collection of OG Issey.

I always wonder what Issey’s collections would look like if he were still alive and designing today. It’s unimaginable that he stepped away from design in 1997, yet still became one of the true legends. I don’t think any other designer has ever won my admiration and affection as quickly as Issey did — especially considering that I’ve only discovered him through archives, magazine publications, and Japanese press/video materials.

It’s incredibly sad that two of my favorite designers are no longer with us — Miyake and Armani, the true humanists of fashion. Their philosophy treated clothing not just as objects, but as extensions of the body and of the human spirit. Giorgio had great love and respect for Issey. Love both em!

I was actually surprised by how BAD the collection was, he really was going from strength to strength. The raincoats, the hooded coats and the spikes circling the models’ body are great but the rest is a mess of textures, colors and weird protuberances.
