i miss the old j crew...
all this clashing prints and colours business is just completely unappealing to me...
Appropriate for the rebellious teenage girl who wants to break away from her and mom's Lily Pulitzer couture, but can't quite figure out how yet.
This looks more like Juicy Couture than J Crew. Hate it.
As a massive J. Crew fan I disagree that it doesn't look like typical J. Crew. That said, I don't think it is as strong as their A/W collection. I'll need to see more before I make up my mind.
I actually think J. Crew is often ahead of the curve (the have a geometrical pencil skirt out now that looks so similar to the stuff Marc just put on the runway) but I think like all designers, they have stronger and weaker seasons.
This just doesn't feel like an evolution to me. So I'll need to see more before I make a final decsion.

tough to go off of just those few pics (i'll have to watch the video...) but i keep falling in love with j.crew when their catalog hits my mailbox (their fall stuff is so great this season)
i'm going to remain open-minded.
I briefly saw the collection on Style.com and I definitely feel like it's all over the place. Nonetheless, there are so many separate pieces that look luxurious and fantastic. See, that's what I love about J.Crew. They always offer incredible separates that can either be a staple in your closet or somewhat trendy but nothing too distinctive of the season. That look with the chambray shirt and the sequined white skirt posted is my favorite. I love the juxtaposition of the glamorous sequins in white with that dark chambray material. Absolutely chic.
I have always been a huge fan of JCrew but they have to show some growth. I'm just not sure how much longer they can do a sequin pencil skirt.
