MANY models have to wait years for their big break, but for Jackson Blyton it came almost overnight.

Within days of stepping into a modelling agency in London, he was jetting off to New York to star in a new Calvin Klein ad campaign alongside some of the world's top models.

Even more surprising, 19-year-old Jackson, from Aspley wasn't even looking to make it big in the industry.

He was with model girlfriend Riley in London when she went to pick up some bags.

"Someone from the agency just approached me, said I looked good and asked if they could take some Polaroids," said Jackson.

The agency then contacted him and asked if he had a passport because he was going to New York for the shoot.

"It was unbelievable," he said. "It was always my childhood dream to go to America, and it all happened so quickly – it's so surreal."

Jackson was taken to a studio to film the new CK One fragrance advert along with singer Cassie, model and socialite Pixie Geldof and model Lara Stone – who is married to comedian David Walliams.

He said: "The shoot went really well, but the whole experience was really bizarre. People would come up to me and ask how long I had been modelling. They could hardly believe it when I said I'd been doing it for four days."

But Jackson, of Hilcot Drive, has not let his new found stardom go to his head.

He said: "It was really strange and really good to come back to Nottingham after New York. There, I could just go out without money because everything was paid for. But it just felt so good to queue for Rock City – it was like I was normal again."

When he's back home, he also still helps his grandad Paul carry beer barrels from wholesalers.

He added: "My grandad reminds me to keep my feet on the ground and that's great."

Since the ad, Jackson has taken part in shoots for Swatch and i-D magazine. But he admits it is difficult to combine his career with his Sports Diploma at South Notts College.

He said: "The college are being very understanding about me sharing my time between the shoots and the study. I just want to complete the diploma, move to London and we'll see where it all goes."
