James Pecis - Hair Stylist

Originally from northern California, James Pecis knew at a young age that styling and cutting hair was to be his platform for creativity. After apprenticing in San Francisco, he moved to NYC to join the Bumble and bumble team where he continued his training in cutting and styling.

Along with working on the fashion shows in New York, Milan, and Paris, he became first assistant to the well known Jimmy Paul for two years and then first assistant to the highly technical Laurent Philippon for a year.

James quickly made a strong presence in New York but full of inspiration and ready for a new challenge, he moved to London to further his session work and now continues split his time between the two cities.

2011 saw James win the title of ‘Session stylist of the year’ at the fashion industry’s prestigious Creative head award’s hosted by Runway magazine. This saw James's session work reach new heights and in February 2012 he made French Vogue history by becoming the first session stylist to work on an entire issue of the magazine.

Equally strong in both men and women’s hair, James continues to love taking part in the creative process of working with a team to produce lasting images.
