You misunderstood. He meant that, compared to modelling, the music/fashion/every [other] industries are easy, or perhaps simple.

This is typical though. So many celebrities/models do this, put down their career in an attempt to seem like a struggling artist and not part of the superficial world; "I'm doing this now...but I really want to do this..."
