January Sales 2005

I went to Saks on Jan. 2nd looking for a pair of Dior Homme jeans on sale and their Dior section was a ghost town except for some new striped t-shirts from S/S and like one suit

BTW does anyone know if those Dior black whiskered jeans that are carrying over to next season ever went on sale anywhere? I was wondering because it seemed the places I went such as Bagutta and Jeffrey only had the distressed black cords left on sale, so I was figuring either they didn't carry it or already sold out because the Dior boutique wasn't having them on sale.

Also, I saw in the GQ Men of the Year Issue Gael Garcia Bernal wearing a black Dior Homme shirt that appears to have snap buttons including ones on pockets on each chest. Is this shirt from S/S 05? If so does anyone know the price?

Black Dior jeans are the hardest thing to come by. They do pop up on Ebay once in a while.

I think you are talking about the cowboy shirt, that was F/W 04-05.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I came across a pair of black waxed jeans from Dior VotC but tried them on and they were too big and not really me. The more basic ones with the unique washes weren't on sale and I wasn't about to pay $500 for a pair of jeans. As for ebay I've seen them floating around for about $300 but I don't really trust those auctions...seeing that those jeans are still in season why would they be sold for so cheap out of nowhere? I don't actually mean cheap, but almost 50% off normal retail seems weird.

As for the cowboy shirt, guess I missed that one. Oh well.

The jeans could be from the previous seasons, and they do go down in price sometimes.

People in VEGAS or L.A.

Fornarina- Huge sale, 50% the whole f/w season, the Fornarina Vibe and Limited Edition collections are on sale as well for 25%.

GF Ferre- Huge sale 50% off whole store.

Just Cavalli- 40%-50% off F/W season.

!!!!!!!!!!! WHAAAAAT! are you serious? When was this? How much was it?

Hey if it was expensive then I feel better not buying it

edit: nevermind i still feel bad about missing it...that looks like a cool *** shirt to wear. The only black shirt I have is my Y's for Men shirt which I feel is too baggy.

today in the 60s

went in banana republic. almost never go in there. was hoping for some vague asprey/beretta country kind of casual. found repulsive bridge & tunnel leisure wear. hello, guidos. I smell your cheap cologne. i didnt think BR cld go down anymore but it has & its like the Gap. It IS the gap. puke.
will never buy anything ever again at BR [last bought black formal crepe trous there in mid-90s.]

went to calvin klein flagship on 60th. too much black. a lot of weekend- casual, 3/4 length coats, drab city wear. some of the shiny fabrics looked cheap. whoever is doing CK now, men especially, is incredibly uncreative & is just repeating a few black sharp cut looks that I saw there 10 years ago. NOTHING new at CK. the black sedate pieces were OK but of course 40% overpriced. [armani's fabrics/prints at the same price are 10X better].
CK has really gone down. a couple decades ago he was a leader in us metro fashion. now its...Nothing.
what new yorker doesnt have tonnes of black already & my armani, gucci & burberry blacks are way cooler than the industrial severe, nursery-school-lang-attempts stuff CK shows.
disappointing, may never buy CK again.

oh well 38 isn't my size anyway so that makes me feel better.

$240 isn't cheap but that's still like a good 50% off retail price, isn't it?

For Fade to Black...

If you are looking or a pair of black waxed Jeans by Dior Homme... size 30(if that is your size) it is marked down at Maxfield for $369 from $535... I know Dior boutique has the same one but at 40% off rather than 30% but I don't think they have any more size 30s.....

thanks but I already tried the waxed jeans on and didn't like them. BTW they were sold out of them at the Dior boutique already by December 30.

I'm actually a size 32...31 is the lowest i can go.

For their shirts I am a size 41.

NYC Helmut Lang store is now 50% off. A ton of stuff left.
