cerfas, you're faster than lightning, i was still reading soft's article a minute after you had bumped it while you were already creating threads
i really like the play with dis-proportion, there's a very 'open' feeling about all those pieces as if the one who wears it only could add the finish....
Like I said in the Ramosport article thread,I had been wondering about him as I haven't seen anything covered of him in ages. He used to be one of my absolute favourites! I guess he decided to take a quieter route....well,much quieter than before,I should say because he was very underrated and very underappreciated as French designer. And they ask where their talents all are?
anna
I agree with you about the openness
and sometimes, weirdly, his stuff looks better if you sort of look out of the corner of your eye
The interaction with the wearer/openness thing really comes through in the S/S 04 collection images--the models are taking on/off pieces, moving around, etc. You should check it out if you haven't seen it yet. There aren't as many clothes, but there are a couple of pieces that I think are really nice. very understated.
Haha, yes, I am internet-fast...I type really quickly
Thank you Cerfas...I have a special place in my heart for Jean Colonna...these are beautiful too. He hits the perfect balance between urban hardness and refined elegance.
I thought so too. He was quite popular back in the late 90s in Japan I think. Japanese magazine like men's non-no was showing a lot of his stuff back then. But haven't heard much of him now. I still have some of those magazines actually...maybe I can scan some of the images and post them.
Thanks for the photos cerfas. Very nice and interesting pieces.
