So, you can see S/S 04 on the website (again, www.jeancolonna.fr)
They are animated photographs

In addition, this designer is now designing for Ramosport (as I just found out from an article softgrey posted)

Nice! Kind of reminds me of combination of some of the earlier collections by Jurgi and Robert Cary-Williams...without the Victorian prevalence.

i had almost forgotten about him:shock:

cerfas, you're faster than lightning, i was still reading soft's article a minute after you had bumped it while you were already creating threads

i really like the play with dis-proportion, there's a very 'open' feeling about all those pieces as if the one who wears it only could add the finish....

Like I said in the Ramosport article thread,I had been wondering about him as I haven't seen anything covered of him in ages. He used to be one of my absolute favourites! I guess he decided to take a quieter route....well,much quieter than before,I should say because he was very underrated and very underappreciated as French designer. And they ask where their talents all are?

Btw,love the two tailored coats!!!!

I love this! :crush: I pretend the detail on the right shoulder is a butterfly.

I had never heard about this designer. Very interesting.

I agree with you about the openness
and sometimes, weirdly, his stuff looks better if you sort of look out of the corner of your eye
The interaction with the wearer/openness thing really comes through in the S/S 04 collection images--the models are taking on/off pieces, moving around, etc. You should check it out if you haven't seen it yet. There aren't as many clothes, but there are a couple of pieces that I think are really nice. very understated.

Haha, yes, I am internet-fast...I type really quickly :)

Thank you Cerfas...I have a special place in my heart for Jean Colonna...these are beautiful too. He hits the perfect balance between urban hardness and refined elegance. :flower:

Ohhh I like it! I never heard of him, but I really like the cut and the shapes.

Very nice indeed.

Didn't he go out of buisness? may be I'm thinking of some one else

I thought so too. He was quite popular back in the late 90s in Japan I think. Japanese magazine like men's non-no was showing a lot of his stuff back then. But haven't heard much of him now. I still have some of those magazines actually...maybe I can scan some of the images and post them.

Thanks for the photos cerfas. Very nice and interesting pieces.

I have a couple of things by him. I like him, overall, but he was virtually unknown in the US. Thanks for the images Cerfas, very cool...
