Jeanette Biedermann (also known as Jeanette, born February 22, 1981 in Berlin) is a German singer and TV actress.
Biedermann was born in Berlin in 1981 as an only child to Bernd and Marion Biedermann. At the age of six she began performing professionally on stage of the Circus Lilliput, appearing as a member of the acrobats. After her secondary school graduation she received a vocational training as a hairdesser, but in 1999 the singer discontinued after her participation in the Bild-Schlagerwettbewerb and the won over 270.000 other contestants. Thereafter she released her minor succeeded debut single "Das Tut Unheimlich Weh" (her only publication in German language to date).
A little later she became an actress in the popular German soap opera Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten, where she played the fancied role of the teenager Marie Balzer from 2000-2004.
The awakened attention on TV helped Biedermann to continue her musical career simultaneously. In 2000 she released her first English sung single, "Go Back". The song entered the top 10 of the German single charts and enabled Jeanette to release her debut album "Enjoy", which was eventually certified Gold. One year later she already won an ECHO for best-selling "Female Artist National", before going on with her second album "Delicious", which was certified Gold.
In 2002 Biedermann released her third Album Rock My Life which peaked at number 7 on the German albums chart and was eventually certified Gold. The album's lead single "Rock My Life" peaked at number 3 and also was certified Gold. Other singles which were released from the album are "It's Over Now" and "Right Now"; both songs peaked in the Top 10. Afterwards Biedermann started her second live tour Rock My Life.
In November 2003 she released her fourth studio album Break On Through, which was certified Platinum. The albums lead single "Rockin' on Heaven's Floor" peaked at number 3 on the German singles Chart. In spring 2004 she started her Break On Through Tour, her biggest tour to date.
Biedermann's latest album Naked Truth was released in March 2006 and included productions by her current boyfriend and guitarist Jörg Weissenberg. The album reached a moderate number 14 on the national albums chart and fell quickly out of the Top 50. The album was promoted by a small live tour, named Bad Girls Club, through eight German cities.
Currently, Biedermann is working on a new album.
