Jeff Buckley

haha, I was just listening to him when i found this thread. He is one of my favorites, every song is amazing, god I love him, I wish we hand't lost him so early:cry:

I was just thinking, is there an Jeff Buckley thread on tFS, and of course there is one.

I adore him, I first heard his music, not even that long ago, I think 2 years ago.
I heard 'Hallelujah' on tv (I knew the original, becuase my dad used to play it) and I absolutely fell in love, his voice is so amazing, so real

My favourites are 'Grace' and 'Lover, you should have come over'.

I'm such an embarrassing person that I have never heard anything else from him except "Grace" and "Hallelujah". I used to love the original Cohen version of "Hallelujah", but since I have heard Buckley's version, I'm not interested about the original anymore.

I love Jeff. Such a hauting voice. I miss him so much. Obviously "Hallelujah" is a favorite. So is "Corpus Christi Carol", "Last Goodbye", and everything else on "Grace". I actually can cry just from thinking about him. I'm so sensitive. He was so beautiful.

I have the same thing, Jeff's version is just so good:blush:

^ Gavin DeGraw does a lovely version of Hallelujah too, but Jeff's is the definitive version in my book. Thanks for sharing kanita & luna minor.

I have literally just started listening to his music, like a week ago...and I cannot believe how beautiful it is. There is so much emotion and feeling in there. Happy Birthday Jeff (I think he would've been 40 today) xxx

^ You should download Grace, Hallelujah and Lover You Should've Come Over. Heck just buy all his albums, they're worth it.

Cohen wrote Hallelujah but in Buckley's version he added some of his own verses.

Love his music.

Just listened to those songs and they are beautiful. I just found this thread....he's definitely talented and an amazing singer. I'm getting his albums on iTunes. :)

*Happiness* that's great you've started listening to him. I find his music so calming (especially songs off his 2nd album)
#24 great pictures. my favourite picture of him ever is where his eyes are closed and there's a flower behind him. He was beautiful

no, he just used some verses, cohen didnt use.

I'm listening to his 'Live a l'Olympia' album right now...I so agree with you, I wish wish wish I could've seen him live. He seemed to actually have a light-heartedness/sillyness about him on stage sometimes that no-one seems to credit with him with...I guess to make him more of a 'tortured genius' a la Kurt Cobain etc.

I feel the same, I can't really say much about him and this music, I would feel I could never explain how much I love it. My guess is many people feel that way, since Jeff is very loved among tFS members, but this is still a small thread.

I really hope they film this movie right...the way they use his music will be interesting.

^ what movie?! My best friend got me the Legacy Edition of Grace for my bday, it's got a DVD as well! I'm a happy camper.:D
